I suppose if you're going to headbutt someone Sergio Ramos is as good a place to start as any.

crazy stuff. Real should probably be up by 3, yet Rashford has a sitter to tie it up. Weird game.

What's more ridiculous?

Luka Modric is suspended for the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup because he was sent off in the 2014 Super Cup, or that the Super Cup is 2 legs?

There are many dumb rules in the sport. Yellow cards carrying over is one of the dumbest, especially for finals matches, and especially across competitions.

Fun fact: I attended the 2nd leg of the Super Cup in 2014 and for some reason have no recollection of Modric being sent off.

To be fair, the massive pregame street party outside of Vincente Calderon wasn't.

So Mbappe seems likely to go to PSG now from rumours. He apparently asked Madrid to match the 12 million euros after taxes offer from PSG and they pretty much told him to pound sand with "Congratulations and good luck in Paris".

Perez's MO change because "they would no longer be able to compete with the big money" seemed silly when he said it, but it's looking pretty legitimate after this summer.

Granted, they still did throw a really expensive dart with Vinicius Junior this year, so craziness is still in him too.

So Ronaldo scored yesterday in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup and took off his shirt. That's a yellow card. Two minute later he dove in the box and got a 2nd yellow. Then he pushed the ref and has now received a 5 match ban.

surprised he got 5 games. The Spanish league is usually a lot more lenient towards the star players.

4 for the shove + 1 for the double yellow.

I see it being reduced by 1, can't touch a ref -- although calling the dive was harsh and wrong.

true but if they're going to stamp out diving, there will get some wrong on the offender rather than the defender. Or else they will have to bring in VAR.
