I was living in Regina, doing a client call and the meeting completely stopped, and my feeling is every TV tuned to this channel as we saw the slowest car chase in history. As callous as it sounds, I remember that meeting became a whole afternoon of sitting in a board room watching this with the client while sipping on beer and eating Pizza. What a weird world we live in.
It lead to a bizarre trial with one of the biggest blunders ever seen in a criminal trial.

I was at sitting at home watching it all unfold live on TV. OJ coverage was everywhere back then. You couldn't escape it. SNL did so many parodies of the whole thing, I lost count.
I went to the 1994 World Cup so was in Dallas. Wasn't really paying attention as we were all excited about the 2-2 draw between Spain and Korea at the Cotton Bowl.
The game ended around 9pm Dallas time and you could hear some murmurs from the press box and some in the crowd. Remember, this was before cellphones. If this happened today, we'd know everything in the stadium. They'd probably put the chase on the jumbotron! Got back to my uncles place after 10pm and watched CNN.

It was a Friday night....at Backstreet lounge in Smugglers for drinks after work. It was so surreal...no one left as it went on and on. By the time the band was taking to the "stage", most had been there for 4 or 5 hours as the club people were also arriving.
I was back in small town Alberta living with my dad working my summer job as a student. He had a cool spare room upstairs with vaulted ceilings and I remember sitting on the bed watching the live chase footage of OJ in his white Bronco. Feels like yesterday.
If not for 9/11 this would probably be the seminal moment of our lifetimes. I remember watching the verdict in class because our LA teacher had one of those portable TVs to watch on. Just not many events that everyone instantly knows about more than this.

I was sitting in a SAIT Senator Burns classroom when the verdict was announced as word started spreading.

That probably should be qualified with North America. On the other side of the pond, I had no idea of this event or even who Simpson was. "He was in the Naked gun movies? Hmm, ok yeah I kinda remember that guy" I can't imagine this made more than a paragraph in a newspaper when it happened.
Reading this thread now I'm surprised that it appears to be one of those moments where everyone can remember where they were following the news.
I was at home during the chase. I was supposed to go to my friend's house but got drawn in to this silly event. He never even realized that I didn't show up because he too was captivated by what was going on.
I remember the trial. It was the lead-in for every news show on every channel, and the variety shows like Entertainment Tonight or shows like that, focused so much time on the OJ trial. I went to Lethbridge College at that time and there was a TV in the Cave (student "lounge") and the place was mega packed, probably beyond fire code, when the verdict was read out.
If something like that happened now I don't think I would really care as much as I did back then. I'm sure there are many others who would feel the same.
Ahhhh. The music anniversary of the chase. Next year it will be linens. The fun one will be the 31st anniversary of the chase, where the gift is, fittingly, travel.

ESPN did a whole 30 for 30 on June 17 1994. Not only "The Chase" but..
Events occurring during this day
The events detailed in the documentary that occurred during the chase of Simpson are as follows.
-Arnold Palmer playing his final round at the 1994 U.S. Open.
-The commencement of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, hosted for the first time by
the United States.
-The New York Rangers celebrating their win in the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals
with a ticker tape parade on Broadway. (The parade took place earlier in the
day and was largely unaffected by the OJ events.)
-Game 5 of the 1994 NBA Finals between the Houston Rockets and the New
York Knicks.
-Ken Griffey Jr. tying Babe Ruth's record of the most home runs (30) before
June 30 and the team's 65th game of the 1994 MLB season

Sleeping off a graveyard shift when my sister phoned to tell me the Bronco chase was on every channel. I wasn't terribly impressed being woken up for it.

Is that the one with the knife sheath in the door panels?
Thats the one, I believe it is also offered with an optional Gun Rack for a slightly higher price of course.
Frankly I dont understand how car manufacturers can even sell cars without Knife Sheathes in this day and age of fluctuating oil prices and unpredictable civil unrest and mistrust of law enforcement.
They should be mandatory like ash-trays and seatbelts!
