Just make sure to disconnect it in the winter so there isn't water sitting around the internals to rust it out.

Looks like a good one, I forgot to check Lee Valley. I ended up ordering this one:
https://www.princessauto.com/en/stee...?skuId=8517393

Which is the same as the Grainger one I linked earlier, but cheaper. So many of these are available at all sorts of places, just re-branded. For that location though, the one I picked is the best orientation. When the one out front needs replacing, this Lee Valley one looks like a great option.

My wife has informed me that we have a gopher living under the front steps, near her flower beds. Any way to get rid of it without potentially poisoning a bird of prey?

If you’re not opposed to poison, you could try those poison tablets used for mice. Otherwise, maybe a live trap.

I asked in the random thought thread how often people fire air rifles in their own yards.

It is technically illegal, but people must do it all the time right? Even the Karenest of Karens isn't gonna call the cops on someone for doing that I think.

I think I'm gonna snag one with a scope from Canadian Tire and commit some casual gopher genocide at my parents place. The rodents multiply like mad.

Gah. I'm going to have to buy it despite the price.

Create a trail of wheat and watermelon heading towards Saskatchewan and it should relocate.

I bought one. It sprung a leak. I'm fairly certain it's because I didn't disconnect the hose from the reel every winter and it rusted out.

I took it back, they replaced it for free. I've now had it for several years and it looks/works just like when I got it.

In general, I'm so tired of buying things repeatedly because everything is crap. So hopefully this is something that actually sticks around a long time and is worth the hefty initial price.

I can second this. To take down about a 40 ft pine tree was roughly $850.

We have had 100% success putting coffee grounds around the gopher holes. We picked up used grounds at Starbucks.

These work very well. Bait it with a cracker spread with peanut butter and a peanut on top. The bait has to be put at the back, behind the spring that closes the cage.

What do you do with the animal once you trap it?

That would be determined by you.

I have a huge squirrel problem. The squirrels get relocated to Edworthy Park.

I was wondering why there were so many giant squirrels at Edworthy.
