Is that merge considered part of the ring road and under provincial jurisdiction, or is it the City? Need to know who to complain too

I would believe that it's provincial since it's part of the TUC corridor. Technically that part of Glenmore (Eastbound) isn't within the city limits; it's on the reserves land.

Technically it's provincial land, ever since they signed the agreement with the Tsuu T'ina.

From a close friend, was working at KGL at the time on this project, It had nothing to do with people whining about not being able to get to 37th. It was all to do with access to the Casino at the time. The casino was worried that people coming from the north on SB sarcee wouldnt be smart enough to turn off on richmond road.

So basically it was still people whining, it just so happened to be people at the Casino.
Even with that provision in place, it doesn't need to be a 60. It's a lane change. One lane.

Actually closed for 2 months. I think they're doing a bunch of utility work there by the Spruce Meadows entrance too.

I mean, the casino is people. The verbiage I used was "important people" which covers the casino in this scenario, IMO.

Spruce meadows way closed till Aug 17, Here's hoping that's the date the rest of the SWRR opens up as well. I imagine that's the last big push to get from Fish Creek to 22x open.

I saw some people surveying the Shaganappi overpass. Hopefully they start the work on getting the second bridge up soon. It's brutal during rush hour having it single lane.

I was just looking at something else on Google Maps and noticed that the SWRR is live and routable. Seems a tad premature, but interesting to see.
That reminds me a drive back in 2011 from Prague to Berlin where a new, major motorway on the Czech side had not yet opened, but was already on the GPS. Even setting the device to avoid freeways didn't help because some of the old routes were interrupted by the unopened freeway but the GPS still had them in place. Paper map for the win!

We ended up in a farmers field in Germany because the freeway just stopped. I think them or one of the other countries decided not to build their side. The insult was there was a toll payment booth I missed stopping at just before it ended. Glad I didn't pay for nothing!

Yes, SWRR going live is a major error by Google that will presumably fixed in the next week. Usually they get it going within a week of opening, with routing errors... then by about the end of October (as most ring road legs have opened Oct 1) everything works fine.
It does allow you to see potential time savings on certain trips, which is interesting.

So as they are widening stoney from 17ave se to like country hills both north and south I wonder why they won't fix the enormous dips in the road before the bridges while they are already there with blacktop .
Same as both frigging directions on Glenmore going over stoney.
Those dips in the road are insane.....but no ......don't fix nothing !!!! Wow.

Over in the west, it's interesting there has been zero work done at the Tuscany exit bridge at all this season. I had assumed they could get it finished this year and open the new Crowchild/Stoney/Tuscany exit configuration but am beginning to wonder now. I think it's all part of the main project but am hoping it won't be timed to open with the rest of the Hwy 1 interchange complex in a couple of years.

They did a bunch of grading and added guardrails, not sure if that was what was taking all the time. One of the reconfigured exits (EB Crowchild to SB Stoney) has been open for a while though. Now you have more than 10 feet to merge.

Yeah, that was all done and it's been quiet for awhile now. The new collector lane from SB Crowchild into Tuscany is not open yet and the new exit into Tuscany off the collector lane (new bridge needs to be completed for that). There's been zero action on the bridge at all this season and that is the key for everything to fully open.

West ring road people (as opposed to pretty much every other ring road team so far) is pretty responsive to emails so I'll ask them about Tuscany.

I have wondered the same for months.
And today, there were workers there!

It's hard because I have no idea when things are supposed to be opening. I feel like they're going balls to the wall at 16 Ave/Stoney and that makes me think Oct 1, 2022. But surely the new Tuscany exit bridge will open before that. Surely?

SW information session held this week. Final bit from Fish Creek Blvd down to 22X not opening till October. Paving, pathways, painting, noise walls/berms are the bulk of what's left. Westbound 22X over Macleod will be back on their bridge by "end of summer", so perhaps before October 1. 101 St/Highway 8 gongshow is a "we're working with the west ring road contractors, thanks for your patience" and no actual information.
