Default Possible to by-pass work proxy?

I'm trying to run a site thats obviously blocked by our proxy server, I can unplug from the network and run from an internet stick with no issues. My question is, is there a way to stay plugged into our lan while also running the internet stick and route IE traffic through the internet stick?

I will preface this with the following:

If your work has blocking so you can't access some websites at work, it would likely get you fired if they caught you circumventing it like this. If I was your system admin, and caught you doing this, I would disable your account until your manager came down and told me to re-enable it.

That said, if you look up dual homing, it should give you all the info you need, depending on how the blocking at work is implemented.

In other words "you risk getting fired by doing this so, here is how you get fired..."

Sad if the sysadmin can't bypass a proxy.

He didn't mention that what he was doing was actually not allowed by his employment web use policy, so I didn't want to withhold the solution based on my assumption that it was.

On my network, occasionally people need to access things that are accidentally blocked or for a one time thing that is approved by their manager. For example, one lady last week had a form that someone had sent to her Yahoo email address rather than her work address, and she needed to print it out for work related stuff. The option was to employ a similar workaround to what he is suggesting, rather than log into the firewall and change a bunch of rules that I would have to change back later.

I forgot you read this.....

Anyway it's more of a question of how it would work. How would the system admin even track this if its going through a separate Internet stick? It's not a blocked website I think certain ports are blocked stopping the website from functioning properly (think streaming) I have other ways around this I just wanted to see how this route would play out.

Edit: I'm also interested in this at home with 2 network cards but one that runs through a US proxy and only for a certain web browser.

Does the company you work for have a separate network? Something like an external network or a separate proxy that is wide open.

Try changing your NIC priority? I think you are asking if you can tunnel a specific website or application through a specific NIC, and I don't think that's possible.

Oh, I didn't realize that is what you are wanting to do. You can't specify a certain browser though, I don't think.

Change your routing table for certain IPs. Been awhile since I have messed with it, but a quick google led to basic instructions : http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...routing-table/

I don't know if you can bypass your work proxy or not, but I know your work's IT team already knows you're trying.
