I am sure there are many here that are otherwise considered rational posters that are keeping quiet because they can see how easy it is to rip apart any of the flimsy reasons they came up with but you would think they would at least have something to hold on that couldn't be ripped apart easily and that clearly isn't the case.

Transplant99 and CaptainCrunch won’t bother to venture in here. It’s vastly easier to criticize when you’re cheering for the opposition. It will be interesting to see how things unfold in this thread if the NDP win.
I doubt we see a weekly event that bring shame to the province of Alberta.. but I’m sure there will be some fiscal policy things that will get heated.

I fully expect some of the conservative posters in the federal thread to conveniently come back into this thread and try and (re)integrate themselves if the NDP win. I’m also sure they’ll bring all the old, yawn-inducing ‘communist/socialist’ rhetoric again, ignoring the actual political position of the ANDP in 2023.
A reminder to conservatives - a vote for the UCP is a vote for the Wild Rose Party, not the PCs people remember. That party is dead. The word Conservative in that acronym is to pull at your heartstrings only.

Actually, I have been doing my own research on this, and did you know that Danielle Smith and Justin Trudeau are BOTH members of the species Homo Sapiens??
That’s the SAME species, in case anyone forgot, that is responsible for literally every atrocity in human history. Look it up. Why is no one talking about this?
Obviously, a vote for Danielle Smith and the UCP is a vote for Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh. Singh thanks you for your support.
I have many other examples to illustrate the deep and nefarious cabal between the UCP and the Trudeau liberals. I don’t feel like sharing them right now though. Do your own research, people.

Two new polls released today. ipsos has the UCP leading by 4 (48-44) but trailing slightly in Calgary.
https://www.ipsos.com/en-ca/ucp-48-s...ad-44-over-ndp
Meanwhile Marc Henry’s ThinkHQ has the race tied at 44-44, but trailing by 7 points in “Calgary proper” (26 ridings).
https://thinkhq.ca/ndp-ucp-kick-off-...n-a-dead-heat/
I would interpret this data as more of the same: this is a very close race right now, and it really will come down to Calgary’s 26 seats and which party can win most of them.

Old people are going to screw us again, aren't they? Yet another reason why reducing their vote as they age is a good plan. You guys will come around one day.

I gotta say I'm surprised by the amount of UCP signs on lawns in my area of the city. I have to admit the NDP poster of Smith's head on a weathervane is a stroke of genius. I had a good chuckle at that one.

Damn, I haven't paid attention to the oil price in quite a while but based on gasoline still sitting at ~$1.45 I would have assumed oil was still a healthy $85 or so.

The NDP didn't announce tens of billions in spending going into their election. Don't you see what is happening here? All these UCP promises are lies that they'll bail on the second they crunch the new numbers. Then they'll cut services and privatize whatever they can, stripping us of our services. Of course, I know your dumb enough to support these types of things becuase you think you deserve some sort of win over the rest of society.

Biking in today, I was wondering how many days I'd survive if I put a big NDP sign on my pack. I figure the morning commute is quite enough that I'd probably make it throguh one of those since I take side streets, but biking up 10th street on the way home I'd be sitting duck. I don't think I'd last a day.

More indications Smith still doesn't understand how tax brackets work. Would have thought Toews could have explained it to her by now. In the past I thought maybe there was a chance she did understand them, but was just lying about it. Now I think she really doesn't get them. I wish a reporter would ask her.

Counted 6 NDP lawn signs to 2 UCP in our NW neighborhood. I think last election it was a more even split.
