I would tend to agree that Dark Knight is somewhat overpraised though in some communities. It's an excellent movie, and perhaps the best comic book movie to date, but I would not call it one of the best movies ever made like some do. I actually think I like Inception more than it, but in large part because Inception was based on an original concept.
Definitely not the best comic book movie IMO. It's a fantastic movie overall, but if you're looking for your favorite comic book characters to come to life on the big screen and do all the awesome stuff they do in the books then nothing tops The Avengers. The Dark Knight series as a whole never really seemed to know what direction to take, as most of the time it comes across as a realistic version of what a comic book hero might be. But then it goes completely off the rails at points with crazy microwave emitters blowing up water pipes, Batman getting surround-o-vision through cellphones, and basically the entire premise of Dark Knight Rises
I really wish Nolan would have stuck to trying to make his Batman as realistic as possible, because that's where it was the strongest. His modern interpretations of Joker and Bane were great and didn't need the over-the-top technology or evil master plans to succeed
As punishment for not posting new trailers for the last bit, here's the 50 Shades of Grey trailer!
Looks so terrible!

Hunger Games trailers have done a good job of not giving away too much. What impresses me more than the fact that the first two films have made about $1.5 billion is the fact they managed to turn mediocre young adult novels into genuinely good films.

We're getting into Oscar season, and even though I hate the Oscars, it does mean that a lot of good movies will be coming out over the next few months.
The new Jason Reitman (director of Juno and Up In the Air) film, called Men, Women and Children. Looks great although Adam Sandler in a dramatic role always makes me roll my eyes a bit:
New Michael Mann movie, Blackhat, I am a huge Michael Mann fan and am looking forward to this:

Really?
I think the best movies he's been in since his hay day have been dramatic roles. Reign Over Me, Spanglish, Funny People and Punch Drunk Love (GG nomination) are all pretty good to great movies.

Hahah you literally named a bunch of movies I didn't like, especially Spanglish. Different strokes for different folks.

Fair enough. I don't particularly like all of them either (again, especially Spanglish), but I think one thing that is universal about them is that Sandler is good in all of them. Funny People and Spanglish are kind of just himself, but Punch Drunk Lone and Reign are both different and strong performances.
That said, most of what he's done since Big Daddy (yeah I like that one, sue me) has been pretty bad. But even Big Daddy has some good dramatic moments in it.

I'd argue Click was the line between good and awful for him
