I turned 64 last week and it's getting harder to play these 36 holes of golf. Just don't have the same stamina and energy that I had in my 20's and 30's. That said I still pride my self on being able to walk 18 holes.

Have a trip to Radium planned for August. Doing Grey Wolf and Copper Point for sure. Looking to do 3 rounds, any recommendations if we should do both courses at Copper Point or is there any other gems in the area? Also if we just do one of the courses at Copper Point thoughts on which one to do?

I would definitely do the Point Course if you’re only going to be doing one of the Copper Point tracks. Eagle Ranch is in the area and is very nice as well.

My friends and I just finished a golf trip out there 2 weekends ago. We played Grey Wolf, Copper Point and Eagle Ranch.

Copper is in the best shape of the 3 by far - Grey Wolf had a rough winter and it shows unfortunately. There are fairways/greens under repair on the majority of the holes. I'm sure by August it will be night and day different condition though.

If you are looking to keep it in that area, Eagle Ranch is a great option. It would likely be your cheapest round of the 3 as well.

I'd play Radium Springs as round 3.

Ya, Radium Springs is nice and is a bit cheaper than Eagle Ranch if I remember right.

Played Squamish Valley yesterday.

$65 to walk is a steal.

Course is tight off the tee, didn't have my best stuff so lots of work on the punch out game.

Greens were beautiful, not a blemish to be found, but my god were they slow.

This morning I woke up and felt like golfing, so I looked at the tee sheet for serenity and saw some open times so just drove out there.

I could have waited 20 minutes to tee of with a two some, or I could go right away.

Teed off at 7.30 and pulled out of the parking lot at 10am. It was glorious.

Came a across a very angry bird on the 13th tee box. It kept buzzing my head as I was trying to tee off. I was stunned that I got a good tee shot away on a hole I have had trouble with in the past.

Chateau Fairmont today. Got a screaming deal for $145 taxes in.

Shot a routine 45-34 off the blues with a double on 17.

We also just played Chateau Whistler yesterday. Beautiful day, but the course was very soft because of all the rain. Disappointed not to see any bears.

I don't know if I have played any other course where the difference in difficulty level between the two nines is so dramatic. Some brutal uphill holes on the front whereas on the back, several holes where your approach is just a pitch shot.

I haven't played there, but I definitely have a bad habit of making one nine much harder than the other. I played last week and was 10 strokes better on the front, as opposed to the back! I would've chalked that up to being tired, but then last night I was 7 strokes better on the back. I just struggle with consistency in general.

Minor gear grinder is Confederation Park converting most of their driving range stalls to irons only. So now the 20 stalls that are left are always full and you have to wait while the other 50 sit empty. I get it - people were probably bombing the odd driver passed the fence but very few people can actually hit that far.

Also forgot that Confederation Park is much harder than you'd expect for a 9 hole city course. Holes 3, 6, 8 are legit difficult holes from the back tees.

Same. Not unusual for me to play much better on the back after destroying my round on the front. In the case of the Chareau course, the back nine is legit significantly easier.

Snuck out of work early Friday and went for a round at serenity.

Got paired up with a brother and sister who were both very good golfers. The both played from the silver tees. I felt like a putz slowing them down a bit playing from the whites.

This woman could bomb the ball with a ball flight that cut right thru the air.

What a silly sport. I thought I had it all figured out with 4 straight in the 70s, a 73, and 5 straight rounds w/o a double, so naturally on Sunday I shot a cool 91. Never change golf.

Had a mini trip with my buddy last week for some rounds.

Played Innisfail and what a tight/short course. Some very nice holes but tons of blind shots. It was great that our buddy works there so we had an idea of what was to come, but just a different type of course. Great shape though.

Finally got to play Stewart Creek and wow. What an amazing course. I liked it better than Banff Springs, and I can't wait to do it again. It crushed me while I played and I loved every minute of it.

I love Stewart Creek. I haven’t played out there for a few years, but it’s just so great. The scenery is obviously amazing, and the course is also playable. I was thinking about trying to get on there this summer still.

My playing partner got a Hole in One on #8 at Nanton this morning. Word traveled fast and soon the deck was full of golfers celebrating the Hole in One.
