Well after you posted that devo I assumed they were playing the reserves, but no, it's a full strength team. What an ass kicking.

I came here thinking..."oh yeah, well, thats probably Bayern's 'C' team"

But...nope...that is a pretty decent lineup.

I have not seen the match...but that group of players should be doing better than this.

Koeman has been sacked and Barcelona is looking for a new manager.

Really curious to see how Florian Kohfeldt does at Wolfsburg. He was an absolute dud the last two years at Werder, couldn't get rid of him soon enough, if they had they might still be in the Bundesliga. Yes the squad was not good but he did a really horrible job. But he did look good in the season or two when he had some quality (Max Kruse) and Bremen finished fairly high up. Was a real up and comer for years.

Christian Eriksen is not permitted to play in Italy this season as a result of the cardiac arrest he suffered at Euro 2020, his club Inter Milan said in a statement, with the Serie A champions open to letting the Denmark midfielder leave.

He later had a cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) device implanted, a type of pacemaker which can prevent fatal cardiac arrests by discharging a jolt to restore a regular heart rhythm.

Francesco Braconaro, a member of the Italian Football Federation's technical scientific committee, said in August that Eriksen will not be allowed to play in Italy unless the ICD device is removed.

Hm.

So obviously this is an Italian sporting regulation, it seems prudent, the man...that was close.

I remember watching that live and I honestly thought he died right there. Seeing the Danes crying around him made me think he was gone.

Honestly...If I am a team I'm not sure I want to take that risk man.

Agree with CroFlames here...I thought he was gone.

I'm with you there man.

I was watching that live too and remember thinking:

"Nobody was even close to him, what happened?"

And then everything afterwards? Holy crap....

I've been in many different scenarios where a teammate has been hurt, but its always been an injury, not a genuine medical emergency.

I know a guy who had that same thing implanted, and for the same reason. I wasn't there when he collapsed, but I knew him through a martial art. He did return to that after the fact, and I was not super pleased. It's not that he wasn't a good guy or anything, but you're participating in a physical activity with someone who you're afraid might collapse at any second. He always assured me (and others) that this couldn't happen because that pacemaker would immediately fire (or whatever), but still...it's a little weird.

Its tough for Christian. Pro athletes are pro athletes because of their compete level. Something us beer league Joes don't understand.

To us, taking his millions are moving into a coaching or management role would sound awesome. But his DNA wouldn't let him I'm betting. Denmark is soaring, and he probably feels he has unfinished business with his NT.

I just wish him the best. Great guy.

My guess is heads back to Netherlands to play. Daley Blind plays for Ajax with an ICD.

another frustating evening so far. The 3-5-2 is a nice idea in theory, but Wan-Bissaka is an extremely poor fit at RWB due to his lack of offense and Bailly at RCB doesn't exactly help. And I don't get why Pogba is given these chances, it just feels to me like he's checked out.

now Varane is injured and Solskjaer goes back to 4-2-3-1. Why not bring on Matic to regain some sort of control? Now you have McTominay/Pogba in a double pivot in front of a shaky back four. Not good.

EDIT: and of course they score THAT goal just after I hit "send". This team, man.

Ronaldo carrying Ole to the end of his (Ronaldo's) career might be the tipping point in the GOAT debate, might seal the deal in Ronaldo's favor.

Wtf? Bailly has been excellent?
Pogba getting the start as he's not playing on Saturday. Good knows why though.
