I predict that McDavid will have to manfully play through a 25 week flu this season.

Last season pretty much proved that McDavid has very weak immune system. The average person who is a non-athlete can recover from the flu in 1-2 weeks. McDavid was still feeling the effects for 10 weeks.
Better not sneeze near the guy; the Oilers' season is on the line.

They're talking about 50 in 50 over "there" now. Most don't see it as possible, but why even start a thread about it? So very, very, no good.

I mean, I think it’s pretty obvious if he plays most of the season he will put up 100pts. For the foreseeable future.
But... he’s never going to do anything that Wayne did. Or come close to it. No one is.

I would love for Sportsnet to make a version of this article for this season just to watch Spector make the exact same picks.

I was just thinking that, I sure hope they do.
Another interesting thing about that article is 4 different guys picked Bill Peters for Jack Adams...

Good lord. In the past three years McDavid ranks 18th in goals in the NHL, and has a career high output of 41. Now he is suddenly going to explode and replicate an achievement that has happened three times(?) in all of NHL history?

The hype machine just never stops. They are incapable of bringing a balanced view to things.

And sadly it's the fans that end up paying for year over year over year. They get them all hyped up, they make asses out of themselves on the internet, at the office and in pubs. And then come crashing down to Earth and have to hide from all of their previous comments.
Every year.

I think they think 50% shooting percentage is completely feasible. If a peon like Rattie can get 50%, then McDavid should be able to hit 60-70% since he is feeling it already.

Apparently it's happened 8 times by 5 different players. But your point still stands...not gonna happen with McDavid.

Yes, they know how important getting off to a good start is this year so that equates to McDavid scoring 82 goals this year. E=NG Logic

Sadly? There is nothing sad about the Oilers incompetence.

Come on, they live in the 80's. It would have to be "This Time it's Different...Not!".

There is absolutely nothing sad about Oilers fans being set up for disappointment and embarrassment. Shame on you.

The difference this time is that McMoonshot knows he needs to score early and often. He *knows*, so it will happen.
