I said I live outside of Houston. And everything else I have said is very unfortunately true. I am looking for a new provider and have meetings tomorrow and will keep you all updated if you are interested.
One thing that was mentioned by another poster earlier has stayed with me and that was Canadians pay $25,000/year for a family of 4 for healthcare. I think that may be fairly accurate. My question would be is every Canadian paying for this or what is the percentage of Canadians that pay that rate? Meaning what age, wage and general % of the population that pays that rate compared to the people that pay zero and do not contribute. The next question would be is what percentage is increasing, the payers or the takers?
Were you basically forced into an HMO from a PPO? Does Aetna have PPO there?

No, it's not accurate at all. An Alberta family of 4 with $100K in family income (let's say $70K + $30K) would pay approximately $17,500 in income tax. They'd also get $4-6000 back in child benefits depending on the age of their kids. So they come in at about $12-13K a year for their entire income tax bill, which includes health coverage.

Seeing as how apparently good ideas are on an indefinite leave of absence, what does everyone think of this?
A bill that requires mandatory military service for the children of all elected federal officials.
Lol see how fast they would scatter!
Back onto insurance- TFF is most likely telling the truth about his situation.
I think BCBS completely dropped all its PPOs
in Texas but has HMOs - not positive.
What's up for debate is why that happened.
Was it the fault of the ACA, or was it a Texas issue?
Texas did not accept the federal funds offered to expand Medicaid. That left uninsured people clogging the system, which in turn cut into profits so rates were raised and certain plans eliminated.
I don't have all the facts but that is the discussion.
So Devin Nunes just told an NBC reporter that he will never be sharing the Russia surveillance intelligence, that he viewed at the White House and shared with the president, with the rest of the House Intelligence Committee doing the investigation.
He has no problems telling the subject of the investigation he is running where the investigation is going and what intel is currently available, but he will never be telling rest of the committee actually doing the investigation.
Republicans solidarity is cracking with some like Walter Jones, Lindsey Graham and McCain criticizing Nunes and calling for him to recuse himself from all further Russia-Trump investigations while Democrats are calling for an independent investigation.
Quote:
Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) on Tuesday told The Hill that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) should "absolutely" recuse himself from his panel's investigation into Russia's meddling in last year’s election.
Jones, a member of the House Armed Services Committee who frequently bucks leadership, is the first Republican in Congress to call on Nunes to step aside.
"How can you be chairman of a major committee and do all these things behind the scenes and keep your credibility? You can't keep your credibility," Jones said just off the House floor.
“If anything has shown that we need a commission, this has done it by the way he has acted. That's the only way you can bring integrity to the process. The integrity of the committee looking into this has been tainted."
Jones is the only Republican co-sponsor on a measure from Reps. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) and Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) that would establish an independent commission to probe Russian interference in the U.S. election.
On somewhat of a sadistic level, I can't help but laugh at how Russia really managed to influence the presidential election so perfectly. The world hasn't seen that kind of power play among major foreign powers in a long time. Sure, countries like the UK, France, U.S., China, and Russia actively interfere in the leadership transitions of little 3rd world counties, but for Russia to do it to America, that is some real showmanship there.
Does Russia now win the Cold War that everyone thought was over by exposing the American democratic system as so flawed that it may never recuperate? That could lead to a Russian back revolution among Trump supporters.
It's what the Russians always preached in the Soviet days; one day capitalism would destroy America. Trump is the pinnacle of capitalism and by putting him in power acts as a huge catalyst for speeding up that collapse. You give them such an astronomically terrible leader after a good one, that the system can't adjust quickly enough. Considering the growing dysfunction between the president, the courts and executive branch, I can't help but think that it is happening right now.
That's some serious villain stuff there that they (Russia) would bide their time for almost 30 years to come up with a political A-bomb like that.
To quote Negan, Russia just forced itself down America's throat, and Trump supporters are thanking him for it.
As a citizen of a neighboring bystander country, I don't like the notion of growing Russian influence into our continental politics. We might as well say goodbye to Canada's sovereignty of the north if that happens.

CNN put out a really interesting documentary on Putin called 'The Most Powerful Man in the World' recently. Check it out if you can.
It's funny because now she might end up winning the popular vote by like 5 million now instead of 3 million, and she still would probably lose. I think you could switch Florida to Hillary just because he's wasting so much taxpayer money and will waste even more with the Mar-A-Lago visits. But that might be it, and Trump still wins the election just flipping Florida.
