Poll: who do you want to be the next GM?
Discussed in a thread a couple days ago, and a poll was requested. So let's hear it: who do you want to be the next Flames GM? Not who you think they will hire, but who you'd want.

I’m scared about Conroy taking the job, but I say give him a shot- they’ve been grooming him for the job for years.

I went with Conroy, because I clearly don't know enough to evaluate all the options but Conroy is a friendly, positive and likeable person.
I'm sure I'm not the only one.

1. Tulsky
2. Dubas
3. Conroy
If it is Conroy, I hope he is allowed to bring in his own assistants.

Tulsky, but then Sutter would have to be turfed and I don't see it happening

If Sutter stays, it may as well be a yes man who has experience working with and crafting teams for him. Sadly.
I know that Maloney said young, but I don't see a young GM in the cards. I know he said progressive, but I'm not sure how progressive one can be if you're placating Sutter.
If it was going to Conroy, he'd have it already. Come on down Mike Futa.

Conroy, Tulsky, Darche, or Dubas (if he leaves)
If Ownership is insistent on keeping Sutter, Conroy is probably the most realistic choice. Has familiarity with Sutter and can work with him, but I think he will also push for more youth. He's also seen it all with this franchise for the last 20 years - hopefully he can take all of those experiences and guide the team from repeating those mistakes.
I'm not sure how appealing the role would be for the other candidates if they can't pick the coach.

Conroy. He learned under Treliving, understands the organizational dynamics from the inside, and probably has some ideas on how to improve things. Although there's something to be said for fresh eyes, I think Conroy's insight from the inside might be more helpful.

If Conroy really wants it, I say give him a chance, but don't make him keep Sutter unless he wants to. Other than that, I like what I've heard about Tulsky.

Conroy might be the only one with the credibility within the organization and among the fans to handle this job.
The owners love Darryl, the fans don’t trust him as GM.
Everyone loves Conroy. He could endure another year of Sutter hockey with assurances that if it doesn’t go well, they’ll agree to rebuild.
I don’t know how many other jobs he’s been up for, but I have always gotten a “Riker doesn’t want to leave the Enterprise” vibe from him.
And if anyone knows how to lift a dark cloud…
