It felt fairly dull to me. Two story lines that had potential, but the execution was way off. Like, buddy from the Alternate Universe...it was just ho-hum. Wouldn't this be a huge revelation, and maybe he shouldn't be the one guiding the mission due to him only caring about getting home?


And the emotional blubber fest around the computer. This could have been done as full episode with the AI taking over the ship in some perilous situation. But no, she just won't tell them some coordinates. I'm just imagining how this would have played out in TNG, and they wouldn't have spent 30 minutes sitting in one room hugging and talking.

I think that last episode was great.
It was refreshing to have an episode where Michael Burnham is the only person able to solve a problem.
And then on top of that, she throws in a moving/inspirational speech, something that is completely out of character for her, and this episode really was a breath of fresh air.

I'm not watching the show (I learned that lesson) but I cant tell if this is a typo or just oozing sarcasm.

And I dont care either way. I like it.

That'd be funny to me, they warp or spore to the system with the "mysterious enemy" they pop out and they're facing an enemy ship. Burnham of course being what she is, is all make a speech tell everyone she loves them, arms the phasers and photon's and orders shield up and Zora's voice come out "You are a moron and F$$$ no, we're outtie" then warps the ship and flushes burnham out the airlock.

In TNG there would have been a very serious trial, probably with a skeptical admiral who later comes around, and realizes that Data / nanites are sentient and shouldn’t be used as tools.

Centre Seat is pretty entertaining. Kind of like a “movies that made us” but for Trek history. Wonder what Kirsty Alley hated so much that she didn’t want to be in STIII. Didn’t know what an utter dick Gene Roddenberry was. Like wow.

Center Seat has been a great documentary to watch for any Trek fan. Alley left over money, though she'd been an unknown actress cast in her first real role, when it came time for her to come back for III, she basically wanted to be paid more then all the cast members except for Nimoy and Shatner, and she wanted the same money as them as she was a popular character. Nimoy even called her agent with a "I'm sorry I think your message got garbled approach you want what?" message. She also claimed that Shatner didn't like her because he felt she upstaged her which could be likely because Shatner always wanted to be in the spot light.


I don't think Robin Curtis was bad as her replacement, of course Kim Catrell made them both look like amateurs when it came to playing Vulcans.

Oh, I got the impression from the show that she asked for the insane amount of money because she thought it was politer than saying she didn’t want to be in STIII.

I really liked the two episodes about the movies and the script writing involved in TMP and TWOK.

Alley has a different interpretation to these events from the interviews she has given. If I remember it was something like she was offered less money for the sequel and then according to Leonard Nimoy, she wanted more than DeForest Kelley. A lot of he said/she said.

Robin Curtis ruined the film for me, she shouldn't have been recast as it breaks immersion. They should have just created a new character like they did for ST VI - funny enough they originally intended for Saavik to return and become the traitor.

I stumbled across the documentary "What you leave behind" on Tubi, which is a Deep Space 9 documentary. This is a really well done and interesting documentary. Its not like your typical documentary, but more of a gathering of the former cast and crew over drinks to discuss characters, and the different concepts of the show. There's a real informality to the whole thing.



The most amazing thing though is they got the writers together in the writers room and wrote the season 8 opening episode. I won't give it away, but man I wish they would have made it. Plus it was really interesting to watch these writers work.


This is a really great documentary. It was sad to see interviews with people that have left us. But it was clear that DS9 was something that resonated through everyone's lives.



Definitely a must watch.

Lower Decks renewed for season 4. Season 3 is already in production and is now confirmed for this summer. Both are going to run 10 episodes.

They should give us 15 per season but this is good news. LD is the best trek has been since DS9, imo, with a brief nod to enterprise becoming sort of good near the end xindi arc/ Romulan arc.

Rewatching this show for the first time since airing and I really don't know what I hated so much about it. It's been very enjoyable.

I think the last season of Enterprise was very good except for the really terrible season finale with fat riker.



I loved the Mirror Darkly 2 episode arc.

You can see the impact of making Manny Coto the showrunner for the last season of Enterprise. It's becoming even more apparent now that the showrunners need to be vetted properly in order to have a successful series. Also, don't be afraid to pull the plug if something isn't working. If the guy in control over the script is an idiot, there in no saving the series.

To be fair, Berman and Braga were not bad. They were very set in their ways by the end of the Voyager and DS9 runs, and the first three seasons felt like an obligation that they had rather than a passion. Coto was fresh, and honestly superior in most ways. It would have been great to see a full traditional 7 year Star Trek run.

Berman and Braga were back for the finale. So there's that.

This thread got me back into Star Trek last spring and I re-watched DS9 for the first time since it aired. I would throw it on late at night just before bed and watch one or two episodes. Still the best Trek.

I never really watched Enterprise when it was on but gave it a shot after DS9 and very quickly got through the 4 seasons and I quite enjoyed it. I didn't think it was very good at the time so, I thought maybe the same holds true for Voyager...

Nope, Voyager puts me to sleep immediately. I don't know if I can even get through season 1.

I was a Voyager fan as a kid but even I know to stay the hell away from that series. Remember the good bits, let everything else remain forgotten
