Hard to choose the best after so many years of seeing shows.
I don't have many stadium or arena shows that just blew my mind.
For me the standout shows are usually ones at smaller venues.
Midnight Oil in 1988 was pretty amazing at the Edmonton Convention Centre.
Albert Collins at the Ambassador hotel in Edmonton about 1992. maybe a year before he died.
Rheostatics at the U of A Powerplant. Cowboy Junkies at Myer Horiwitz (SUB) Theatre
The first time I saw Grady (Gordie Johnson)
A few standouts at the Folk Festival, too. Violent Femmes, the first time I saw Blue Rodeo, Los Lobos, Ani diFranco, Elvis Costello
