Totally fair (me too), but dude was calling people idiots for taking paper maps as backups, where i think one would have served him well in this case

I was watching that one car commercial today where the GPS voice person says "turn right" and the guy turns left instead and was thinking they must have installed Apple maps in that car.

That Lexus commercial is broken. The GPS was telling him to turn right into a dead end. It must have used apple maps. hahaha

From the looks of it, Google has very little confidence the iOS Google maps app is going to get approved by Apple meaning iOS users will probably be stuck with AppleMaps. The app is rumored to be ready by 2013.

Google just posturing. if they follow the allowed API's there is no way Apple would reject the app after 1) tim cook mentioned to users to use web google maps and 2) the pr disaster that would follow if they didn't allow it in

It's not even a named source. It's probably a flippant remark by some random developer at the Goog.

Freaking apple maps and their 3D options which happens way too damn often when I'm simply trying to pinch the map to zoom in on my iPad.

So I went to use google maps yesterday to find sarcee arena and it didn't take me there. Just left me stranded on anderson. Should I alert the press so everyone can find out how another mapping app has failed us

You should alert the press that someone on the internet was wrong.

The error that was the cause of this thread wasn't reproducible by anyone (including the OP) either.

I have no problem ranting about what I dislike about Apple, but Maps has yet to fail me. I can recreate the problems of others, I just keep dodging the bullet for things I have to navigate to.

I'm odd that way... I was also one of the few that never had a problem with MobileMe back in the day.

I was playing with the 3D maps on the ipad, that is pretty cool. Takes a lot of the sting of not having street view
