I think we have similar tastes. I have a Submariner (16610), a white face Daytona (116520) and a 40mm Panerai (PAM48).
Here is a pic of the three of them along with my wife's Datejust.
Yesterday, I was in a jewellery shop in Zurich and tried on a white gold version of this watch:
It is now on the top of my list of wants. I would lean towards the rose gold, but the white gold is just as stunning. This picture does not even do the watch justice. The enamelled dial with the blue steel numbers and hands is amazing.

No doubt. I feel embarrassed wearing my department store watches now.
I really like the Longines Master Collection, they are reasonably priced for someone like me entering the market, and I love the classic look of them.

Anyone here own an Omega? Or specifically an Aqua Terra? Curious to know how well do as daily watches.
While I don't mind the look of some of the Rolexes (Submariner No Date is probably my favourite), for the most part I'm not their biggest fan. While they make some quality pieces, I think the fact that they are considered the go to "rich man" watch, turns me off.... both because I'd rather not wear something that is an obvious theft risk, and because I'd prefer a more subtle brand that that can match or better the quality for the price.

I have an old Constellation, looks like this:
I think it is from 1969. A little beat up, but still good.

question for you watch enthusiasts:
I dropped my watch on some tile floor and chipped the crystal (doh!)
anybody know if this can be repaired, and if so, where and approx how much would it cost?

Got this Tag for christmas from my fiancee. After seeing some of the pics of those retro watches in this tread, I want to expand my watch collection.

The link series are the nicest Tags I've seen. I used to size the link for friends, and initially it was a bitch to resize the damn thing cause I had no clue how to do it. After figuring it out, resizing it became second nature. I could resize those links now in 15 mins or less.

How are you liking that Longines? I've been scoping out something similar myself, the Longines Master Collection Big Date.

I was thinking of the big date, but I think it's a 40mm case? I was a little shy to go up to that size. I think my next watch will be a 40mm, but I didn't want to go too big on my first watch since I have a pretty small wrist.
I love the Longines master collection. They are classic, they go with anything. I hate the stainless bands though. I opted for the leather bands. The watch itself is beautiful. The steel blue hands are gorgeous when the light hits them. The clasp is great and overall the watch is perfect.
You can find them online for cheaper than in store. I went to a local shop and they wanted $2,100 for it.

Yep, so far I've seen them online for $1,500, which is a great value considering the arena it plays in. I prefer smaller watches myself since I don't have the biggest wrists either, but the 40mm definitely didnt look over the top.
I love those blue hands, I always think it's great to have a little bit of color on a classic watch. And yeah, good thing you went with the leather band....steel bands on a dress watch just don't look right to me. I prefer a day/sports watch in steel, dress watch in leather.

Currently have 3 watches; a Swatch that I brought home from France in 1997, a Citizen Eco-Drive that I wear for work, and a Wenger weekend warrior.
I dream of Tags and Movados, but for now that's all it is - a dream. I'd love this bad boy:
