Not the best game from the Flames, and they got screwed on the goalie interference call. But we still earned a point, so not a disaster by any means. I ain't even mad.

Was at the game with the family, to me the flames were never in sync and were pretty lucky to escape with one point. Even my wife, who never watches hockey, was screaming at the refs - about the non high sticking call in the first and then the mysterious holding call on the Monahan sandwich. She went full lungs after the goal reversal. Lol, couldn't stop laughing.
I think if the goal counted, the Flames complexion would have changed completely. But those three things alone probably just caused more turmoil in their game and thus the disjointedness of their play.
Either way, happy with the point especially with the way they played.

that was meh game that could have gone either way, and it came down to a 50/50 coin flip in the shootout. the attack was out of sync and the defense was only a little better. team did play better the second half of the game and smith helped them get the 1 point. hamilton/gio/backlund/tkachuk all looked good, as usual. monahan was notably bad. hope they get it together next game and go on another run

Pretty much... I didn't like it, but if it were smith that got bumped like that, I'd have taken that over rule, albeit, sheepishly.
Felt like a 50/50 call to me... just didn't break our way today
Decent result against on the top teams in the league

Stupid break came at a terrible time.
Hopefully they don't take 6 weeks to find their mojo again, combined with another 3 weeks of playing well and not getting the results/bounces.

That was exactly the right call on the goalie interference. If that had happened against the flames and the goal wasn’t reversed I’d be furious.

While technically MT hits the Jets defenseman that stopped short, and that defenseman brushes the goalie, that’s not even by rule automatic goalie interference. And by no means was MT intentionally causing interference, directly or indirectly. The contact has to also prevent the goalie from being able to make the save.
I don’t think it did, the puck went in the other side of the net long before the goalie would’ve been able to make up the 2 or 3 inches he was nudged the other direction in the two seconds before the shot went in.
And I’ll also defer to the players on the ice and the goalie for their reactions as a secondary check. From what I saw, none of the Jets, including the goalie, complained about feeling there was interference.

Yep, if Hellebuyck even thought he was slightly interfered with he would have been freaking out. With how inconsistent the league is Maurice took a chance at trying to prevent the game from getting away early and caught the video review crew sleeping at the switch again.

I agree. Too often, coaches are using the interference challenge almost as a Hail Mary. At worst you give your team a breather, at best the goal against is erased.
I've hated this stupid system since they implemented it, and yesterday's call was brutal.

If that were to be made part of the review, you'd likely end up with significantly more complaining.

Don't really recall seeing Johnny or Mony out there on the ice. With some players giving it their all maybe Gulutzan should have stapled them to the bench for a couple of shifts to send a message!

Mangipane has really dropped off his last 2 games. He looked completely overwhelmed yesterday. Yes he was playing with Stajan & Lazar, but he also looked very bad against the Canes too when playing with Janko & Hathaway.

Johnny skating to get off the ice made me yell at the TV....woke up the dogs. Lazy POS.
Zero effort to break up plays. Hope he gets bag skated next practice.

I don't think it was implied that it should have more bearing - just was rubbing people the wrong way and how it was handled by the Jets. Myself being one of them. My ass still burns with rage from the disallowed goal.
