2019-2020 CHL prospects general discussion thread
Flames QMJHL prospects were quiet last night. Both Rimouski and Moncton won their games—2–1 and 6–5OT respectively. Pelletier had a single assist. Moncton plays at home tonight, and Rimouski is back on the ice tomorrow.
Pelletier has 6G 14Pts in 9GP.

2g + 2a for Zavgorodniy in a 9-2 win.
13gp 10g 18a 28pts +21
It really looks like at this point Lafreniere is too good for the QMJHL. Which makes it difficult to parse Zavgorodniy's performance, but it is comforting to know that Zav was pretty dominating early last season without Lafreniere on his line.
Also have to wonder how beneficial this is player development wise if Rimouski keeps blowing out opponents.

Zavgorodniy really impressed me in the 2018 preseason. I thought he outperformed Dube there. He was less visible this year in preseason but IIRC there were some injury return issues he might have been fighting.
I'm really excited to see him turn pro next year, regardless of what he does in the Q. He's a really complete package.. two way game, motor, heckuva shot, speed, fitness, strength.

Just wanted to point out that Jeremy McKenna was third star in that Wildcats game on the 19th-goal, two assists, +3.

Playing with a future #1 overall pick can only be a good thing for Zav. He will definitely learn some things from Lafreniere

Wolf is 6-3-0 so far with a 1.73 GAA and a 0.945 save %
He is 4th in the WHL in GAA and 3rd in save %, but the goalies ahead of him are back ups who have played 4 or less games so far.

Was also reading that Parsons highest SV% was worse than Wolf's career low (not including this year until its over). Seems like he has way more upside than a typical 7th round pick. Not to get ahead of myself, but he's basically the next Kipper, lock it in.

Hope him leaving did not leave a sour taste in his mouth.
Would love signing him in the offseason.
Give Pelletier someone to come to the A with who he is familiar with and is also a pure sniper. Guy has one heck of a shot.
Throw an ELC at him with enough signing bonus to make him think twice.

I don't think Pelletier is eligible for the AHL next season, he will be back in junior next season most likely. Since McKenna wasn't good enough for the AHL this season I don't think he's a lock to be good enough next season. The Flames seem to have a lot of contracts spots available, so I wouldn't be against giving him a contract, but he would be a long shot prospect.

Jakob Pelletier with 20 points in 12 games. 12 points in his last five games. And no he's not eligible for the AHL next season, NHL or back to junior.

Wolf was named 1st star as he stopped 34 of 36 shots in a 3-2 Everett win against the Giants. The Silvertips were out shot 36-22 but Wolf stole the W.

14 points in the last six games for Pelletier.
Is McKenna associated with the Heat at all now? Doubtful he had more than a one year ahl deal
