What are you most excited about for 2015/2016 Flames?
I did this thread last year, and it's fun to go back and have a look through..
http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=139257
Most of us were excited about Johnny (rightfully so!), some of us were excited about the draft, but in general most of us were excited about the youth.
How about this year? Lots of interesting stories..
- Will Gaudreau avoid sophomore slump and continue dominant play?
- Will Bennett have a huge season and challenge for the Calder?
- Will Hamilton fit right in and solidify an awesome D?
- Will the Flames make the playoffs again and maybe even push for home ice?
- The battle for #6 D spot, tons of guys have a good shot here.
- Will Poirier make the team?
- Will Ferland pick up where he left off?
- Will Gio challenge for the Norris and stay healthy?
- Will the boys keep playing hard for Bob?
For me, I'm most excited about Bennett. Last year I was most excited about Gaudreau and he lived up to the hype. This year I think Bennett is going to be awesome and a big difference maker.

I'm excited to see which young dman can step up and grab a spot this year.
Oh yeah, and that Benett gut may just bring some excitement!

To be fair, we were right about being excited about the draft, we just got the reason wrong.

The addition of Hamilton makes me wonder if Wideman will become trade bait at some point this upcoming season.

Gaudreau finishing top ten in points would really be great. Of course winning and the cup and all that, but cheering for him each game (and of course others) and watching him play such an amazing style really made me look forward to going to the games.

Gaudreau taking the next step. No sophomore slump for him. I predict he will be close to a PPG player.

I am most excited about the potential to prove those that call last season a flash in the pan and rant and rave about how we will regress next year.
Sure they may be right and we could falter from last seasons mark, but with the additions GMBT and Co. added this off season I would be quite surprised if we didn't build off of it.
I have been watching highlight videos non stop the past 3 days and really can't wait for the season to start.

I want to see how much more tenacious this team can be with Ferland, Bouma and Bennett right out of the starting gate.

I wanna see what Ferland can do, as well as where Monahan takes his game next. And of course our new toys Frolik and especially Hamilton, can't wait to see what they bring.

I think there's a good chance he will need to be moved by the end of next summer. To many big contracts that year and one of our young guys will be ready.
I'm a huge Wotherspoon fan, but Morrison could be the guy!

Beating the hell out of the TML while moneybags Babcock stands on the bench scrunching up his face.
The next elaborate excuse from badstats people about why we actually suck.

I will be taking the ferry over to see game 1 of the season. Can't wait to see the Canucks fans cry...if any of them show up that is.

I am excited to see Edmonton #### the bed against Calgary late in the season, and then lay blame on them for not making the playoffs. Terry Jones will say " Calgary was locked into the playoffs before this game, they should of let Edmonton win". Always earned, never given. Terry Jones, clean it up.

... well a lot of the stuff I'm excited about might not actually happen:
- Ortio making the team for good and putting up 93% save percentage over 60 games
- A whole year of Johnny/Monny/Jiri, and with Monahan being a better faceoff/possession center.
- Ferland, Backlund, and Frolik on the same line.
- Byron/Bouma, Bennett, and Jooris on another same line.
- Bouma/Byron, Stajan and Shore on another line.
- Nakladal, Morrisson, Wotherspoon, Granlund making the team proper by playoff time.
- Arnold, Poirier, Agostino, Culkin, Kulak, Klimchuk, Hathaway, Wolf getting callups and making the best of them.
All pretty optimistic.
So I guess I'll just go with winning the Pacific division and having home ice over Anaheim, beating them in a playoff series without even breaking the Honda Center curse, and then winning the Stanley Cup. That's a safe enough bet at least.
