Default Summer 2015 Prospect Ranking - Round 13

it's time.

Calgarypuck's 3rd annual Prospect Ranking Poll!

Going with the 25 and under with 65 or less games played at the NHL level which actually works pretty closely with my own rule of thumb of "anyone not too old that hasn't been penciled in".

Therefore Granlund, Ortio and Ferland are still prospects.

Monahan and Gaudreau are young but clearly established and no longer prospects. Bennett may be penciled in but he's only played 12 NHL games and is a prospect.

Morrison gets my vote. I think he'll actually become a regular as soon as this season and make one of our other players expendable. I see him as a 3-4 guy in our future for a while.

Went Arnold again ...

would be happy with Andersson, Culkin, Morrison, Rafikov or Smith.

Still lots of good choices.

Interesting to see McDonald win with the lowest % of total vote thus far.

Cleaned up the code as well in the header.

Now that you're at it, there's a typo in Ferlands name. (Micheal.)

Went with Morrison over Andersson or Arnold, since Morrison is closer to NHL and a defenseman.

Smith, Culkin also had consideration. Rafikov is a bit of an unknown still.

I thought I was going to go with Andersson, but Morrison gets the edge.

He put up 6 pts in 10 games with Addy last year when he was thrown into the mix. He's 6'2, 200 lbs.

I think he has potential to crack the lineup in the next 1-2 years and make an immediate impact.

Andersson for me, but it is getting tough. Morrison would be next up for me, but I understand the love for Arnold.

I agree - I was torn here, but think Andersson may have the most upside. This is about the time now where you start to look more at who will actually make the NHL too.

Went with Andersson.

For me, tossup between Andersson, Morrison and Arnold.

One guy has had success in junior.
One guy has had success in NCAA.
One guy has had success in NCAA and AHL.

Now that I write that, I wonder why I didn't vote Arnold.

I was so high on Sieloff when he was drafted, so I voted for him. I think he's got some great upside, but his development is going a little slow. I sincerely hope they don't give up on him.

Really tough call between Arnold, Andersson, Morrison. Went with Andersson. Then I look at the unique physical attributes of Smith and wonder if I'm underrating him.

I think come the Penticton games we really see where Smith is in his development. Personally I believe he took massive strides...( pardon the pun) in developing into a needed piece on this team.
I voted Smith.

Morrison again for me. I think he's got all the tools to be an NHLer (and soon).

Went with Andersson. Not as close to making the Flames as some of the others but I believe he clearly has the highest upside of the group.
