My 7 year old has been asking for Minecraft for a long time so I bought it on PC.
We killed some cows and sheep, built the pickaxe, sword, crafting table, a mud hut and bed... What next? What do people do in this game?
I'm actually jealous you get to do this with your kid now. I remember watching these with my son and getting some direction and ideas from this series of videos. I remember these being pretty kid friendly, but that was a while ago, maybe watch one first to make sure.
Out of games to play so thought I'd revisit trying metal gear solid the phantom pain. That forced tutorial intro is so painfully bad, is this worth powering through? I'm familiar with the franchise but this is killing me.

I really loved this game. But, the start is a total slog, and I quit twice over a few years before I finally just powered through the third time. Glad I did, but I get it, the start of the game sucks bad.

Oh boy...
I've posted this a few times, but will say it again. Over the span of it's release a decade ago, it took me about 5 tries before the game clicked with me and I got into it. Each time was same as you; stuck on the intro tutorial and just got bored/frustrated after a while and gave up. Waited a few years, tried again.
Finally last year I powered through it and yes it does get better once you get past that part. Takes a bit of learning to learn the whole menu screens too, but after that the game is pretty fun. I never beat the game though, eventually I ran into a mission where you have to extract a few of the vehicles in some base and I just couldn't beat it. Got annoying to have no checkpoint and start over every time. I felt like I had accomplished what I set out to do and at least experience the game as it was meant to be felt, so no shame is quitting at that point.
So yes, it does get better if you can make it past the intro. Took me literally 10 years, but worth it
Damn that looks great. Retro graphics, Ultima style inventory, classic fantasy class system.

My kids love to play survival mode and build and explore. I have barely dabbled with survival mode. I have stuck to one map on creative mode for over 7 years. I don't get to play too much but I have been building a gigantic palace, complete with, well, whatever I can think of in that moment that I'm playing. Mazes, mini roller coasters in the underground building, gardens, pools, dungeons, towers and a massive pyramid with three levels of arenas. I'm quite sure there is hidden rooms that I have forgotten about because I have taken a few long breaks from the game.... now that I'm talking about this, I'm going to go work on it right now.
My oldest son used creative mode to create a city and within his city he built a hockey arena, a baseball park and a football stadium all complete with VIP suites.

Well my poor GTX 1080 is finally showing it's age, can't even get 60fps with all the settings on low. Gonna put this one on the backburner until I can finally upgrade my machine
