Chicago Blackhawks @NHLBlackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks have relieved Joel Quenneville of his coaching duties and have named Jeremy Colliton the 38th head coach in franchise history.

In addition, the Blackhawks have named Barry Smith an assistant coach on Colliton’s staff. The Blackhawks have also parted ways with Assistant Coaches Kevin Dineen and Ulf Samuelsson. The rest of the Blackhawks coaching staff will remain with the team.

Wow......

Hawks definitely need changes, curious to see the coach be first.

I bet he's the oilers HC by next sep.

This is dumb. They should have done this in the offseason if they were thinking about doing this.

Wow. The Blackhawks' run is officially over. It was a hell of a run though.

Wow. Even though they were struggling I didn't expect Q to be fired yet. I guess it just goes to show that no coach is safe, unless your name rhymes with Rotty Rowman.

edit- 5 of the 6 first responses started with "wow" including mine. Lol.

Thank goodness the oilers are on a bit of a hot streak now. If they were struggling I could have seen Q heading there almost immediately.

Q will get hired sooner rather then later.

Seriously, why would he go to Edmonton? he doesn't need the money and he'd have to deal with that dumpster fire of an organization..

Yes but that move will be promoting GG, not hiring a SC winning coach. It's the Oilers.

There is NO CHANCE he takes the Oilers HC position, he isn’t stupid. There will be other, better options out there. Edmonton has no chance of winning like Chicago, 2 Players eating around 20% of your salary cap and trying to build a Stanley Cup winning team with the remaining doesn’t work!
