I think the big difference between Dallas and Colorado is Colorado has two of the three best players in the league right now. McKinnon is an absolutely unreal Beast who's physically gifted, and also brilliant at the game. He's a real leader too, unlike the fraud in Edmonton. Makar is probably the best Calgary hockey product that I can think off the top of my head

Did you mean Colorado? They beat us in 5, and the series flipped after Makar arrived in game 2. It was actually close and Frolik shooting it into the glove in OT in game 2 still haunts me.

Anyways they went on and lost to San Jose in 7 games. They lost in 7 to Dallas in the bubble. They lost to Vegas the year after and thats when Mackinnon did that I am sick of losing, and they went beast mode after that and won the cup.

In the short year they win, and good on them for not getting cute and taking the stud in MacKinnon. Than they have that epically bad year....have 3 teams jump them in the lottery and still end up drafting the best player at the 4 spot. There's like 2 years out of like 50 where the player drafted 4th is the best guy in the draft...just so happens to be that year. I mean they took him and deserve credit for that. But let's laugh at the other 3 for the whiff here. Jersey and Dallas still got good players. But they'd deal them for Makar in an instant.

Also don't forget Colorado is doing this without their captain, Landeskog. I doubt he comes back in the playoffs, but never say never. He'll have another six weeks to recover before the finals. I'd love to see him return for the finals. At least it means that his LTIR is actually legitimate.
