Ironic things are heating up since he was born the year after fire was discovered.

With Thornton, Spezza and Simmonds in the bottom-six, Toronto is really going all-in on emulating my NHL 11 Dynasty Mode team.

TO loves their Shark retreads. They have so much experience winning it all. Maybe they'll give him the Marleau deal.

Toronto would finally have their No1 centre.

Was fun to hear Burke crap all over this idea on Hockeycentral (Toronto) today.

It's definitely a little weird that Thornton and Marleau have now both been Leafs at different points in time.

While I don’t mind the move, I’m not sure why they need him as the third line centre when they already have an older vet in Spezza. It’s not going to hurt them but he’s slower now and doesn’t fit in with the identity of the team. On the other hand, quite contradictory to my statement above, I kinda like Toronto’s mix of older and younger. If it were up to me between Thornton or Spezza it’d be Thornton. Two I’m not sure about but Thornton can still pass so well.

I have found so many Ontarian leaf fans to have a weird fascination with Jumbo. Even though it’s a depth move, this is kind of exciting.

Even old man Thornton pushes the play forward. This is a nice deal.

Spezza, Simmonds & Thonton.
Some bottles of Gatorade on that bench, mixed in with a few Ensures.
