Oh what a tragic loss to the film industry.
He was, by far, the worst part of the Transformers franchise.
Even his name annoys the hell out of me.

Even Stevens was awesome (his sister in it was even more awesome). Other than that, I can't really say "man, he did a awesome job in that" to anything else he did.

On one hand it's like yeah screw him, on the other I feel really bad for people shoved into the spotlight at a young age. His mind is probably all screwed up and he probably has serious personality disorders due to being under so much pressure, having people hate him where he goes all the time, that's rough. Yeah transformers sucked but hopefully he doesn't turn into a Syd Barrett basketcase ruined by fame, pressure and drugs. Not worth it over a bunch of crappy movies.

He really is. It appears starring in the Transformers and Indiana Jones movies really went to his head. He needs to get over himself as he's probably already learning that once you aren't a hot commodity (to which he's trending) Hollywood turns its back on you quickly.

Not to derail this thread, but I don't think syd Barrett's demise had anything to do with fame or pressure, the guy simply did acid with his band mates a whole bunch and it affected him way worse then the others most likely due to genetics. Pink Floyd were barely on the radar when his mind left him.

Pink Floyd was releasing pop songs nearly entirely generated by Syd and he was constantly being pressured to create music that would do well on the charts (e.g. Arnold Layne, See Emily Play). They were surprisingly successful in the pop charts while Syd was at the helm. He wanted to do avant garde groundbreaking kind of stuff that his label and bandmates resisted, ironically enough they ended up using some of these ideas on albums such as Dark Side of the Moon later on (e.g. female jazz singers and saxophone solos). He started taking acid in the late 60's while being told what kind of music he should be making, he resisted by often not playing the singles properly on stage and screwing around. This erratic behavior eventually led to his release from the band.

Great news if true, although I kind of doubt it.

i'm failing to see the connection between avant-garde psych-rock genius Syd Barret and avant-doosh family channel actor shia leboef

I didn't mind the guy in Lawless.
Don't understand the constant hate. Not like the Transformers movies were going to be that great whether he was in them or not. It's friggin Michael Bay.

pressure, fame and drugs made them go crazy. When Shia was a little kid he was normal. I don't see an egotistical terrible actor like a lot of people, I see a malnourished drug addict that doesn't sleep and gets told what he should be doing by different people all day. He's not really a doosh so much as someone with serious issues that tries to hide it. Shia on acid
"He smashed the place up, got naked and kept seeing this owl"
syd on acid
"I went through all of Syd's acid breakdowns. He used to go to the Youth Hostel in Holland Park, climb up on the roof and get wrecked and get spaced and he'd walk all the way to Shepherd's Bush where I was living. He used to come round to my house at five in the morning covered in mud from Holland Park when he'd freaked out and the police chased him"
I'm not saying they are somehow linked, it's just what happens to a lot of people with the factors of pressure, bad lifestyle habits, fame and drugs. People with stable emotions generally don't freak out horribly on lsd, people with mental problems freak the hell out.

The AV Club remarked on the apology, which they found was identical to a Yahoo! Answers post on the subject of plagiarism posted in 2010. This raised allegations about further plagiarism on LeBouf's part, as various sites noted that some of LaBeouf's other works appear to have been copied without attribution and that further apologetic tweets from LaBeouf appeared to have been fashioned after unrelated apologies by other public figures.
