Director Steve McQueen (Black and British guy) has directed three movies, they all star Michael Fassbender and everyone should see all three.

Hunger, Shame and 12 Years a Slave.

I don't why American Hustle is in any top ten list. One of the most boring movies I have ever seen.

I actually thought American Hustle was so so as well. The performances is were good, but the plot was kind of a dud. It was weird seeing Richard Harrow with a face.

It is both good, and sad, that I see more kids movies now.
I'm with you, except more on the "sad" side. At least you didn't see the terrible kids' movies Planes and Walking With Dinosaurs.

One movie I saw over Christmas that no one's mentioned here is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I got dragged to it because I can't stand Ben Stiller, but he was the least Stiller-like I've ever seen him in a movie. Both he and Kristin Wiig played their roles straight, which surprised me to no end.

It was a little too much "You should be inspired!" but I found it completely enjoyable. Even Sean Penn was great in his role.

I liked Silver Linings Playbook way more than American Hustle.

Just won best film (comedy/musical) at the Golden Globes. I'm pretty sure it deserves to be in a top ten list despite your boredom.

Was Christian Bale even there? Love that he snubbed them (although I assume he's just filming a movie somewhere).

Woody Allen wasn't even there to accept the Cecil B. Demille award (lifetime achievement), but he's always been an outsider. Bale's absence was notable, but he doesn't seem to go for the award and red carpet scene.
