Default Going to South Korea... What to Do?

Hey CP,

I think we actually have some members who live in S.K. - I am visiting with family in May for 3 weeks - just wanted to get some insights of what's worth it, what to avoid (tourist traps, etc). Looks like we will be spending the majority of our time in Seoul, with a trip to Jeju Island as well.

Any feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Thanks!

Do the DMZ tour. One of the most interesting things I've ever done when traveling. If you have any interest in global politics or even just a general curiousity about N. Korea, its a must.

browse the street market (namdamyeung i think?)....bring an empty stomach and follow your nose and the crowd. i remember having these delicious fried pancakes with glass noodle inside, also followed a long lineup at a shop that sold pretty amazing steamed buns

Namdaemun Market - Great marketplace for street food. My favorites include Tornado potatoes, corn dogs with french fries, tteokbokki (spicy rice cake), soondae (blood sausage), Jokpal (pork trotters marinated in soy sauce and spices), kimbap (kinda like a california roll)

I think the Restroom Cultural Park in Suwon is a must for any tourist:

Im MORE than happy to help if you PM me or if you want to connect while here, I can give you my cell number or work phone.
Jeju is awesome, but pretty laid back, mostly for newlyweds. GREAT hiking though, it has a great network of trails from the very easy to difficult.
Always this too... http://headstandtravels.com/the-muse...h-jeju-island/

I live a 5 minute walk from Namdaemun Market, 15 minutes from Gyeongbokgung Palace.
You will LOVE the food and there are thousands of restaurants.

Everywhere is a tourist trap...and its all eye candy.
MyeongDong, Namsan Mountain, The War Memorial Museum, Itaewon, Gangnam, Eat Kimchi every day, Street food, Noryangin Fish market, get pissed drinking Soju, mekju or poktanju it NEVER ends.

you can even eat this:

You'll enjoy the NK tour much much more if you have a pirated copy of "The Interview" in tow.
