Default WJC Day 7: CZE vs AUT (12pm MT), CAN vs FIN (4pm MT), SWE vs USA (7:30pm MT)

Flames prospect stats:

Jakob Pelletier - #12 Canada
3gp 3g 1a 4pts +7 13:44atoi

Connor Zary - #9 Canada
3gp 0g 1a 1pts +3 10:13atoi

Yan Kuznetsov - #2 Russia
4gp 0g 0a 0pts -1 17:01atoi

Dustin Wolf - #32 USA
86:35toi 21svs 1.00sv% 0.00GAA

Today is the final day of the round robin.

Canada faces it's toughest opponent (on paper) in Group A. Winner of Can vs Fin will face the winner of Cze vs Aut in the quarter finals.

Group B is still wide open and Swe vs USA has tremendous implications for the quarterfinals.
If Sweden wins today:
1. Sweden
2. Russia
3. USA
If USA wins in regulation:
1. USA
2. Russia
3. Sweden
If USA wins in OT or SO:
1. Russia
2. USA
3. Sweden

Whoever finishes 3rd in Group B will face the loser of Can vs Fin

Spencer Knight is the starter for USA. It could be argued that the Americans have 2 of the top 5 goalies in the tournament.

Really excited for today’s game, should be solid games to watch going forward, starting of course with last nights game between the Swedes and Russians. Hoping to see Zary get moved up in the lineup and Pelletier to continue his strong play.

Bottom line is if they don't win today they will be looking at a very tough quarterfinal matchup.

Austria getting out of a period scoreless has to be considered a win for them.

That G is tremendous.

If any other game is as good as last nights Sweden/Russia game I’ll be happy. That was a great hockey game.

TSN says six players in Team Canada's history have scored 6 points in a single WJC game. Two of them were Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky; juxtaposing these names next to Dylan Cozens and Quinton Byfield as a way of emphasizing the significance of the achievement. But who were tbe other two unnamed players? I'm guessing they were not quite as great as Gretzky or Lemieux.

Boy you would think this would be something easy to look up - yet I can't find the other two players at all online.

Didn't Tavares have a 4 goal game against Russia in his draft year in the New Years Eve game?

Edit it was a 3 goal game vs the USA in 2008.
