IIRC any Golf Canada branding left there is because of the contractors operating out of the facility (so the pros, Golf Canada certified methods and the like) but Golf Canada itself sold off their stake.

They are renamed now to GolfFuture YYC or something like that. Apparently they are installing a bunch of launch monitors that will help you play a simulated round of golf in a fraction of the time from your range stall. You hit all your drives and approach shots from your stall and then head to a green/short game area (currently under construction) and hit all your chips and putts. Seems interesting to me.
If you have been there lately you’ll notice they have done a fair bit of Reno work. So far everything looks great. I love the new mats!
Edit - I should mention that I don’t think that the facility is affiliated with Golf Canada anymore, but could be wrong

Thats awesome to know! Thanks for the info.

The article talks about "retractable screens and a heating system to make this year round.... unless this is some sort of Star Trek forcefield.... it kind of sounds like simulator golf in the Oct - Mar months.

That'll be a hefty fare....not sure if cabs will service it but I'm sure Uber drivers will happily line up like they do at the airport for fares.

I'm not sure I'm understanding the dislike for the locations? Don't most people drive to a golf course, have a few drinks during the round, and then drive home after? What's the difference with the TopGolf then? Of course the locations are going to be outside the city - driving ranges are huge so you need land that isn't that expensive.
Really excited for this if it comes through. My wife has never liked golf traditionally, but loved the few times we've gone to TopGolf while traveling. It really is a great idea that includes non-golf people really well.

Taylormade SIM drivers are $200 off right now on the Golftown website if anyone is looking to cop. Decent deals on the other SIM clubs too.

I'm here to help you out.
There is the number to call before you leave your house. Tell them you are in the parking lot and they will add you to the list.
$15.00 for a large bucket wasn't as much as I expected. Annoyingly, the stalls we were assigned were not heated.
Still it was +2 and was nice to be swinging the sticks in December.

I don't know the answer, my buddy put us on the list.
I got there at 1:30 and we were hitting balls at 2:45.

5 minutes they told us today, so they're expecting you to be in the parking lot when they call you.

Does anyone know if the dome at TPC Fox Hollow is open?
I checked the website and called their number and it's still not clear if they are open or what the rules are.

We've hit late Feb! Time to start getting cautiously a "little bit" excited for the start of the season!
Just had all my sticks regripped. Hoping for an earlier start than May 1 this year or whatever it was last year.

I ordered some golf stuff last week so I am getting excited too!
Anyone have suggestions for where to stay in the invermere area that allows dogs? Would like to go out there in late may/early june to play a few rounds but also bring the wife and dog.

How will Covid affect the start of the season? If we can continue with the measures from the end of last season, Covid shouldn't affect our season much, I hope.

I'm hoping for this also, and maybe some expanded services (club storage for example). Really, the clubs all operated safely and without incident last year, so one would hope we open on the same schedule this year.
