Thumbs up Flames vs Avalanche, 2:00 MST. Sportsnet West, Fan 960
Well, minimalism worked on Thursday, so here we go. The Flames hope for a little matinee magic today as things are getting close to the wire.

The lines are shuffled, Mangiapane and Glass are up, Lomberg is down, Smith is hurt and there's ground to be made up. Sounds like fun.

The playoff express has left the station. All aboard!

With Anaheim playing Arizona and the Kings playing the Oilers I suspect a win will be required for the Flames to keep pace. I think they'll get it.

Well, I successfully registered my daughter for pre-school in September for 5 days a week, all mornings (yeah, baby!) All from waking up at 4am and sitting in the freezing wind through the morning hours along with my fellow parental brethren.

So if the Flames put an effort like that in for their 'earlier start than usual' they should win this one 4-0.

Go Flames! A win today at home against another team slumping similarly and is in the same race would speak volumes.

Flames likely have to go 13-7 down the stretch to grab the 3rd seed and final playoff spot in the Pacific. They could really use a run over the next 5 games to lower that needed winning percentage.
