Come on Cecil ~ its easy to see why he took offence to it ~ the comment takes his username and differs it from how it was intended ~ I don't think its that big of a deal honestly either but no need to throw gasoline on it.

Before last night, the top line didn't have a regulation goal in six games (from what I heard from Hrudey last night) . . . Probably a shakeup with peculiar timing, that's all.
That said, I have no doubt the scouts attending that game probably took a good look.
I actually hadn't realized it had been that long. That changes things a bit I suppose. The top line has been pretty consistent for the most part this year.

It would seem that way considering it took so long to give the flames highest draft pick ever a shot on the first line but no, I think it just takes a bit longer for coaching to realize the obvious. They seem to insist on making the original plan work in fear that changing things is admitting they were wrong. In reality, there should be hundreds of changes throughout a successful season from lineups to strategy to PP.

When every game is televised, when tape on every player can be analysed, when scouts can attend games in person all the time, who the hell showcases players anymore? It's 2018.
OP name checks out.
What? Yes. Of course. Obviously players are showcased.
You don't think that anyone watching him play with Debbie Brouwner is a good representation of what he brings to the table do you?
Why would you even ask this question. What do you think is happening:
1. The Flames are more concerned about showcasing players then winning games when they are in the thick of a playoff hunt, so they put Bennett on Line 1 to increase his trade value despite the fact it would hurt their chances of winning.
2. Flames thought putting Bennett on line 1 would help their chances of winning in Phoenix.
MAYBE this could be a thread is we were in the Oilers spot in the standings.
just good old line shuffling to get them going. Obviously worked pretty well.
Trading Bennett would be stupid IMO. They wouldn't exactly sell high right now, plus he showed just yesterday that he can play on a top line. He's 21 years old and is cheap next year ... why would they want to move on from that? Backlund has shown that sometimes a little patience goes a long way.
Why can't Flames fans wrap their head around the fact that Sam Bennett is 💯 than Ferland? Sam's numbers are much better than Ferlands as a 21 year old.
I still cringe at every trade Bennett suggestion, so I hope not.

GG makes good decisions - eventually - but damn is he ever slow at getting to them. Possibly too slow for success. No knee jerk reactions from him. Might have the makings of a very good NHL coach, but might be painful to get there.
It was just a thought. He does have one more year at a real cap friendly hit. Our intention the whole time was for him to be in the top six. Just thinking maybe they have seen all they need to and made the decision to cut him loose for the most they can get. If he can light it up in the top six for a couple games it only helps them.
So pondering something is all of a sudden makes someone a conspiracy nut?
No worries. I had the same thought last night. Guess I'm insane too

Pondering is okay, but can you think of any other reasons they put him on the top line? That's something to ponder!
Flames played well and to have thread discussing that maybe Bennett is being showcased seems a bit negative and a distraction. You might want to consider there may be some stronger reasons they put Bennett on the top line. Just because someone needs money and is going to the store does not mean they are going to rob it!
