There aren't a lot of examples of goalies moving at the deadline which should also tell us something about the probability
But there are a few
2006: Roloson to the Oilers for 1st and 3rd. Don't know what his contract was
2009: Leclaire to the Sens for a 2nd
2014: Miller to the Blues on an expiring contract. Full deal was Traded from Buffalo Sabres with Steve Ott to St. Louis Blues for William Carrier, Chris Stewart, Jaroslav Halak, round 1 pick in the 2015 draft (Jack Roslovic) and round 3 pick in the 2016 draft (Linus Nassen)
2017: Bishop to the Kings. 2017-Feb-26 Traded from Tampa Bay Lightning with round 5 pick in the 2017 draft (Drake Rymsha) to Los Angeles Kings for Erik Cernak, Peter Budaj, conditional pick in the 2017 draft and round 7 pick in the 2017 draft (Wyatt Kalynuk)
2018: Mrzek to the Flyers. 2018-Feb-19 Traded from Detroit Red Wings to Philadelphia Flyers for conditional round 3 pick in the 2018 draft and conditional round 3 pick in the 2019 draft

If we have the space for it, I don’t see why we wouldn’t try to fit him in.

That requires discounted cap signings of Tkachuk, Rittich and the ELCers.

I am not saying my trade proposal is what will happen. However, I do see there being a possibility that no one else bids and the Wings would take a fourth round pick. Then they can sign him in the off-season if they really want him back or explore other options.
We have to look at this in context though
Howard has spent his entire career in Detroit
There's rumors that the Wings won't to bring him back: https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2018...extension.html
Their other goalie is Bernier who is at best a platoon type guy. They need a solution for next year.
All this points to him being less available than I think some believe he is. If they move him - it has to be worth their while.

How are you going to divide up the ice time between three star left wingers? You can't. Plus how are they gonna fit a 10 million dollar player under the cap? I'd love Hall but cant see it happening.

Those are definitely fair points and I understand your point of view. I guess we will see what happens at the deadline!

Tkachuk can play RW. And he’d do it if he had to.

Plus the odds are usually on a re-up with the present team. Of course, NJ isn't very good and seems a bit directionless to me. They have Hischier but not a lot of other young talent. I don't know that Zacha has impressed that much.

Not sure the Isles will deal, but Ebs could be a fit. Doesn't bring any sandpaper element, but would definitely help PP2.

And it would be glorious to have our friends to the North watch him lift a SC in Calgary!

Please elaborate you wouldn't want an MVP caliber player to join the Flames?

Eberle hasn't lost his Oiler Stink yet.

HARD PASS!

HARD PASS!
How many times do you have to post hard pass when someone brings up Eberle? You have done it at least 3 times

Not until you truly appreciate how hard the pass is.

4 times. Though I guess that post is marginally better than his Rittich thread was. May it rest in deleted thread heaven.

Hall is going to get much more than 6 mil on his next deal so I can understand why someone would not want his team to be the one to pay it to him heading into the back half of his career.

Seems like the kind of guy who will become a boat anchor of a contract once his scoring dries up.

He grew up in Calgary and went to high school here. I worked with some of his family in the hotel industry about 18 years ago.

Hall does seem like a guy that relies a lot on his raw athleticism. But also he is a pretty ridiculous athlete, so he will probably maintain it for a few years yet.
