Interesting you mention that llama, just from what I have observed, they added some FPS features such as a dodge roll (will be essential in combat), no global cooldown feature for instant cast abilities (allowing you to chain combo buttons as fast as you physically can do it).

They've apparently designed it so it is less of a "rotation" system like WoW / Swtor have and more of a reaction depending on what your enemy does. A class like the theif is very resource intensive (initiative bar), and certain skills take half to 1/3 of that bar - so you can't just spam all your abilities to kill someone.

I hope that combat feels more interactive, but I guess we'll wait and see based on how the weekend goes.

I plan to play a ton this weekend.

Ended up buying it. I figure it'll be good research for my job if nothing else. Funnily enough all my emails from Arenanet are in german. I wonder if it's because I'm in Singapore.? No idea.

Can somebody tell me how I uninstall the game?

Just want to know for once the beta is over... I like keeping my PC clean. Can't find anything anywhere besides the folder I downloaded into, but nothing about uninstalling.

this was my thoughts in my brief time with the last beta weekend. the animations felt very disconnected with what was actually happening. couldn't get into the game at all

I don't think anything actually "installs". I just have the .exe and a huge gw2.dat file. No shortcuts or registry entries that I can see. Maybe it does more once you actually play the game though.

I was just curious so I could compare, I have issues also it seems better after the starting zone but still choppy. I have the 580GTX.

Lots of people also having a lot of lag issues.

The PVE is still playable, but certainly PVP becomes just a huge mess.

Also not a big fan of everyone wearing the same stuff in PVP (outside of WvW). Not much to strive for.

Maybe, but the exact same thing has been said about lots of betas, and not just MMOs. Betas are betas, and often times optimization isn't noticed until the full release. I'm not too hasty to judge unfinished products.

One of the patches they released a couple hours ago was a GPU optimization patch. So it did get noticeably better in WvW combat. I'm still having a couple of problems on my client (not being able to see AoEs / the AoE targeting cursor).

We'll see how much it improves over the next couple beta weekends. I hope they're starting to get a feeling for the numbers in WvW events. Lowest FPS for me on min settings was 5 FPS (that was with 60+ people on screen).

Also it may have something more to do with overall server bandwidth vs high client demands - I'm really not sure they were properly prepared for the amount of people who were going to log in this weekend (no excuses there, as they should have been). We'll wait and see on that. There were points in structured PvP today where it was very smooth to garbage and unplayable laggy.

Hemi's kinda right though, MMO's are notoriously bad for ignoring performance feedback on open betas close to release.

all i know is that if i ever do by another MMO, it will be several months after release. i've been burned by getting in on release too many times
