It's a few days old now but I didn't see it anywhere else.

The Alberta Veterinary Medical Association has banned unnecessary medical procedures on animals such as tail docking, ear cropping and declawing. Overdue, but still a great decision in my opinion.

Saw that story and still trying to wrap my head around body piercing and tattooing. I had no idea that was even a thing for a pet.

The body piercing makes no sense to me. The tattoo'ing kind of does. Now, I'm not talking shave the pet and give them a full body tattoo, but take my middle cat, for instance.

When taken to the vet for his neuter and to get his ID chip and ID tattoo, I was told that the lady who did the ID tattoos was a bit of an artist, and for a donation to a pet charity, would be wiling to do a different small tattoo in place of just the traditional ID numbers.

I thought that was a pretty neat idea, and am a sucker for pet charity donations, and ponyed up (especially since he was getting an ID chip anyhow). So instead of his inner ear ID tattoo being numbers, it's his name and a small paw print. But it's where the numbered ID tattoo would be, so it's not easily visible, and still serves the purpose of being a form of ID for him.

A little something like that, I can be behind.

Damn, those are some eyes on that guy... looking classy in the bow tie.

My cat would never permit a bow tie.

Another hilarious moment from our Chocolate Lab, Iggy. I've got a bad shoulder and was medicating with some edible lollipos a few months ago. I'd left them on end table for a while and she never touched them. Fast forward to Tuesday and my wife comes home to a dog that had eaten 2 of them, 50mg THC each. I've never seen her so out of it. It was hilarious. She'd get couch locked, then get up and do a few laps of the house at 100mph, then down again. Here eyeballs were enormous and she'd get spooked by light or sound.

She also lost all control of her bladder...so I had to put her in a garbage to get her into the shower.

Big image, imgur cant seem to shrink...

Spoiler!

This is Molly.

Molly passed away very early this morning while out in Sicamous which was her favorite place in the world to romp around and be as carefree as she could be...which she was really good at.

Molly had a good run. She had just turned 18 of which I was part of her life for the last 8. She really was the most gentle and loving animal I have ever had the privilege and honor of knowing.

I am really really going to miss her.
