Sometimes I wonder how the Flames would have fared if we had kept Bob Hartley around as coach.

Most likely better than with Gulutzan, Ward or even Peters. As much as there are some that will stand by Hartley's removal for whatever reason -- the guy knows how to win. Removing him without an actual better option in line might have been Treliving's worst mistake as a GM. Only took until this season to find a real head coach.

As per wikipedia, he did win a Swiss league before coming to Calgary.

The Swiss National Leage A (NLA) is listed in that tweet

I have never heard that from any source, reputable or otherwise.
And yeah, it validates the fact that no NHL teams have wanted to hire him, likely because he’s a nut.

Whatevs. I didn’t comment on him winning. I commented on someone trying to make him winning about Treliving.

Bob wasn't afraid to hurt anyone's feelings ....he just wanted to win , knew how to win and had the balls to push the buttons required to do so.
If the Flames had balls at the time and didn't need to look like the smartest guys in the room all the time we'd have maybe won too.
Another great coach p issed away for someone's f ing ego.

Don't worry, when we fire Brad no NHL team will hire him to implement his blueprint of fire selling his draft picks for guys like Hamonic. So we can say this about Brad in 5 years too.
Either way, congrats to Bob, our most successful coach since Darryl in 2004.

Hartley is well known as having bigger issues than just “hurting feelings”.
If he was a great coach he’d have had more than one NHL job since getting turned in Atlanta in 2007. Atlanta bought the “he won a cup” argument and he went nowhere. Then he went without a job for 3 years (compared to other guys who get jobs right away after being fired, if they want one). And he only got his Calgary job because of Feaster. And since 2016 he hasn’t had a real sniff at an NHL job (even the Montreal rumour was just BGL saying Bergeron visited him while scouting players in Russia). They don’t want him.

So in short, sorry, you are wrong
I can’t believe we have to do this again. He took Atlanta to the playoffs
The president of Omsk is quoted and confirms on the Habs situation.
https://www.habsolumentfan.com/canad...ste-a-montreal
And finally Treliving started with Bob, in that early GM ‘seeing what we have’ mode, couldn’t fire him after the Jack Adams but did at his first opportunity
