Slightly disappointing day for Canada.

Positives:

- Kim Boutin wins Silver (her 3rd medal of the Olympics)

Negatives:

- Women lose in the Gold Medal match (Silver)
- Men let go of Gold in the final 2 laps of the Short Track 5000M Team Relay (Bronze)
- Sam Girard finishes 4th in the Men's Short Track 500M
- Laurie Blouin has a disappointing Women's Big Air Final (hope her injury isn't serious)
- Noah Bowman and Mike Riddle finish 5th and 6th respectively in the Men's Freestyle Skiing Halfpipe (although our biggest Medal hopeful Simon d'Artois just missed out on Qualifying for the Finals)

Edit: We apparently can't even beat the US in Curling now. HORRIBLE day for Canada

Edit #2: Now Marielle Thompson AND India Sherret both fall in the 1/8 Finals
A horrible day is a silver and bronze and a bunch of other close calls?

I get that we get our expectations up and that's good in one sense, but we aren't going to win everything. We're doing great so far. And we'll get more medals. Maybe even a couple we aren't expecting will medal for us.

edit: actually 2 silvers and a bronze.

Yep, but we still shouldn't feel entitled to a thing.

- We lost Gold in a shootout loss (we should always expect to win at hockey)
- Our Curling team(s) s*** the bed against a huge underdog (who also happened to be USA)
- Girard was ranked 3rd in the world in the 500M event (although he had a pretty good Olympics overall)
- Our 5000M relay team had Gold in the palm of their hands until the poor final exchange in which Girard couldn't stay ahead of Hungary and China
- Blouin was looking great going into the Big Air Final

I'll give the Men's Ski Halfpipe a pass because neither Bowman or Riddle were expected to medal but still, yesterday was overall a pretty ####ty day considering the amount of medal hopefuls we had

There's a difference between feeling entitled and believing in so many of your Canadian athletes that you have high expectations

The last race Kelsey won was the 2016 X Games. Really hope she can do something here.

Phelan will be in the 3rd Quarterfinal in the red bib, Serwa in the 4th Quarterfinal wearing the red

It’s fun watching while not having high expectations. Watching the snowboarder win the women’s ski race was awesome. Seeing the North Korean lady finish a slalom race 30 or 40 seconds behind the leader and then get an ovation was cool. It’s fun watching Canada win medals but I find I’m enjoying the side stories stealing some of the events even more.

And that's fine. To each their own.

But I'm watching to cheer on my country, who has so many incredibly talented athletes in so many different disciplines that the expectations should be high.

Three races ithout a crash doesn’t bode well for the skiers in next race or two.

Great run by Britt. In WC racing her best results 2 x 4th. She has one podium (3rd) but that was based on qualies because the race was cancelled.

Kels and Britt will be in the same semi final. Huge that they don't have to face world #1 Sandra Naeslund yet.
