OP said they wanted dinner. McDonalds is fake food so doesn't really fit the bill.

Good food and beer, but go at least 2 hours pre-game if you want out by puck drop.

If you're looking Italian, La Vita e Bella at the corner by Cboys is good. The meatballs are fantastic.

Some of the best burgers in the city too!

Ah that's where they moved. I ate there a couple of times when it was in the Ogden area? Drove past it on Blackfoot a few weeks back noticed it wasn't there anymore. Mmmm tasty place.

I usually go somewhere on Stephen Ave and then hop on the train. I find most of the places around the Dome to be not very good. Mill Street is ok. Native Tounges is good if you can get in.
Is Vagabond still doing their smaller menu for Saddledome events? I went once and it was awful.

Came to post this. Great little spot! And I think there's even a beer/burger deal on Fridays...

Hmm maybe, but I did a lot of bad things in the Republik back in the day. I hope they sanitized that place.

Kinda hipsterish place across from the dome. Its big and spacious, lots of room between tables.
Good selection of beers and the food is the sorta stuff you want pre-game.
I think the atmosphere in there before and after playoff games is going to be superb.

If you want a Shaft before the game, keep your energy up, make sure to stop off at the Living Room before heading to the dome.

I am not sure what part of town you live in, but if your on the westside of town, hit up Greco's Pizza and steakhouse on 17 Ave SW.
Old school cooking, great prices on food and drinks in an old fashion type environment. The pizza is fantastic, the steaks are great and the rest of the food is excellent. The lounge specials are rock bottom prices and vary every day of the week.
It's my go to regular place for pre-game meals and if your not driving, the Westbrook station is across the street to take you to the Dome.

Coming from Sylvan for the game.
Greco's is great pizza. #coolstorybro, was in there back in the early 90's when it caught on fire.

I'm doing the Nainas thing, but question: what time do you have to get there if you want a parking spot?

Vagabond used to be TERRIBLE but has since improved. Decent menu now and better then Mellrose inside Cowboys Casino.

Used to do the Drum & Monkey before games all the time but I found out they closed last summer My old watering hole and I couldn't even go in for one last drink. I hate being in Winnipeg >.<
Sunterra is always good (proly spent $1000s at the Banker's Hall location over the years) though these other suggestions may be a better pre-game sit down.
