5'10'' 185lbs
undersized d-man with breakaway speed... hockey iq very high. normally wouldn't take him but his hockey iq was too high to pass up- Burke

all the players we're taking have high hockey IQ and compete
Button had him at 38
Jim Cummins wanted him - paraphrasing Burke on the Fan960

There's that hockey IQ again!

It's alright, we'll take a 6ft 4in player in the 4th round and people will be back saying its Burke's team.
I think this draft proves once and for all that Treliving makes the decisions and he won't be swayed by a players size. Good to see.

Take compete any day. At least they want to play here instead of playing for European team later.

It's all part of the act.
Burke blusters about to deflect attention.
People fall for it.
Do it again.
I very much enjoy it

Top D-Man at the U-18 tourney.
If he's 6'0" he probably a first rounder IMO.
Like that they are taking advantage of the market correction for size in the 2nd and 3rd rounds

Compared to Ryan Ellis. He's almost 5'11" which is not that small. He'll spend few years at Harvard now.

Was hoping for him at that spot. Good pick.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Looks like he's committed to Harvard. Smart cookie. Also wouldn't expect to see him for 3-4 years.

That's a good way to put it. A market correction is exactly what is happening. All things being equal the big man will always get picked first. But it looks like the small guy goes first if he's better.
