Agreed.
Powerful Android box, dual tuner OTA PVR, no subscription program guide, and chromecast all in one!

Got email this morning that my Channel Master Stream+ has shipped!
Looking forward to playing with this!
Will either post thoughts/results here or in own thread if it messes this one up.
Certainly willing to try whatever anyone who is interested wants to know about it.
Yay!

I got my shipping email as well.
I'm hooking mine up to a 4k TV, I'll be interested in seeing what kind of content I can get.

Got my Stream+ today and hooked it up!
It is fantastic, despite its known issues.
Scanned in the 75 OTA channels without issue.
Added Pluto and Haystack TV, which integrated into the guide perfectly, leaving me about 200 channels with guide. Guide is outstanding, including categories which is very nice.
DVR works well. Can't really tell how much it uses per hour. I bought a 128GB Samsung Evo plus card, currently on sale at best buy.
Installed Kodi from play store and is very smooth.
Installed Downloader (and browser) to use to sideload.
I have no idea what else to do with it, except watch TV. Good test will be when wife and daughter get a chance to play with it, to figure out just how easy it is to use.
Really, really pleased so far

Have to run out and grab a card to try DVR. Can't DVR streamed content

Please let me know how well it works for live streaming of Sports in both HD and 4k. If it passes the test, I will order one.
EDIT: Also, I am in Calgary so anyone who purchases it here can you let me know how well it works and how many channels it has? Cheers!

Any good tricks to streaming over Kodi without the buffering issues? I have hardwired connection but some sources are really bad. Do you need to use those connections where you have to pair them or something?

I will be able to let you know about HD, later tonight when NHL games are on. I use my valid NHL.tv subscription through Kodi, which allows for streaming at best possible bit rate.
I have nothing 4K. I know that DoubleK has 4K and plans on testing it. He should be getting his soon (delivery to Canada will take a bit longer).

I no longer use Kodi to stream "Grey Market" addons. I understand they have done a good job of virtually shutting it down, or at least making it incredibly frustrating and/or unwatchable. KI still use it as our home media center for content stored on a HDD connect by SMB, and for some apps that use legitimate subscriptions.
I did recently subscribe to a VPN, as I push the Grey market still for a couple things, but in US one can mostly subscribe to exactly and only to that which they want(for streaming) and pay accordingly

NHL.tv works really nice. Have the Stream+ and the Firestick both plugged in to same TV.
The firestick makes me want to weep a little now. The Stream+ is butter smooth and fast. The firestick is a little bit glitchy, occasionally, and took twice as long to start playing video.

Very limited sports broadcasts in 4k unless you are watching soccer. There was 13 NHL games in 4k for this year according to NHL.com the majority being Maple Leafs. I can imagine this will increase in the future.

I had mentioned previously that the best way to enjoy kodi is with a premium downloader service (debrid service) like premiumize or real debrid. Real debrid is cheap but bans you if you use it on more than one IP address so it can work only at home. Premiumize is about 4 times more but can use any ip. There is a lot more debrid services out there but those two I personally like. I never have buffering issues and watch everything in 1080p or greater.

I honestly don't see much different between HD and 4k for sports.
The jump from SD to HD was typically associated with a much larger TV and resulted in a much improved viewing experience.

What service are you using for sports in 4k?

Few thoughts after having the Stream+ for a week. I quit reading AVS forum because I'm not exactly sure what they all want for a $100 tv box.
1. Obviously lack of Netflix support is an issue (not for us, but still). I expect this will be corrected soon. Amazon Prime also does not work on the Stream+ and does on some other streaming boxes (Shield/Apple TV).
2. DVR works very nicely. Guide only shows two days but has 10 loaded somewhere, as setting up to record daily soap or similar shows you what it has flagged to record for 10 days. There was some question whether or not it recorded when powered off (using remote) but functions perfectly.
3. We use voice control with Google home a lot. Google devices can be renamed in Google home, this must be renamed in settings --> about device of Stream+
Really wish I had one for every TV. We have already geared up with a firestick/chromecast combo in each TV. Could have gone with this device instead of those two - cost would have been a tiny bit higher, but this box is butter smooth and lightning fast. Love this thing more today than I did day 1.

Reason: Corrected Amazon Prime compatibility

Mine arrived last night. I will be picking it up tonight. Have $20 in customs fees which is highly annoying.
