Bungie's 'Destiny'
Bungie (creator of Halo) is finally fully revealing their first new game since leaving the Halo franchise. It's called Destiny, and I figured people would want to be discussing it.
IGN will be having a live reveal of it a 1030am today at this link:

I'm excited to find out about it!

Reveal video just played. Looks pretty awesome.
Always on connection...is it an MMO?

Apparently an MMO shooter, but no subscription fees.
And not on PC either. 360, PS3, and 'future console technology'. Agreed though, it looks pretty cool.

then why don't they open up the new game to PC players and see how they fare against the console users?
can't stand FPS games on consoles, so looks like i'll be avoiding this like the Halo franchise

LOL, assuming this is released in the next 12-18 months, I will be around 40. That means I will have a game to keep me busy until I am...... 50.
Looks awesome, aside from ODST, Bungie has yet to disappoint me.

As far as I understand, a lot of console shooters need to have some serious aim assist to compensate for the pad's inherent slowness.
I wonder if there are people who play Counter-Strike on a gamepad.

You can actually see it if you play a game on a console. In Halo your crosshairs will stick to an enemy as they move and in CoD when you hit your iron sights it will sort of lock onto an enemy if they're close to the middle of your screen.

I was thinking about that with ME3 multiplayer. Someone was describing how it works on the console and I realised that people who compare experiences in the game aren't necessarily playing the exact same game. Or rather, to have the same game on the console, you need to artificially enhance the aiming.

Wondered how long this would take to turn into a 'FPS are better on PC' thread.
Guess what? It's not on PC at all. End of conversation.
I'm intrigued but I wish after all the hype and build-up they'd have shown a little more actual gameplay footage.

I prefer FPS on PC, but this really isn't just an FPS.
I mean, if it was a pure matchmaking system, it would be different. It's not MLG.
It's Bungie. They are the best in the business. The game will be unreal.

Only came up because of the creator's rather arrogant remark that doesn't really make much sense.

A sci-fi shooter, taking place in the future, with alien involvement? Way to come up with a new idea Bungie.
