Default Problem with cursor

When typing on my laptop right now - my cursor jumps around so all of a sudden what I'm typing appears elsewhere (e.g. skips to the paragraph above or something). Anyone experience and/or have any tips on how to solve this?

Turn off Enhanced Pointer Precision.

Click Start, click Run, type control mouse, and then click OK.
Click the Pointer Options tab, click to clear the Enhance Pointer Precision check box, click Apply and OK.

Or install TouchFreeze: http://code.google.com/p/touchfreeze/downloads/list

Your hand is touching the touchpad causing the cursor to jump around?

This is what I thought at first but it's not the case as I've tried typing with my hands completely above the keyboard except for my fingers on the keys.

I would still try disabling the touchpad and seeing if the problem remains. I have seen that happen where the touchpad isn't being touched; but the cursor still moves around.

Same as ken, I have had the same problem with my laptop, a Dell?, even when I could swear I wasn't touching the pad. Then after disabling the problem was fixed..

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
