What's with all this jailbroken talk?
If you have an iphone 4, and the current first gen iPad you could get internet on your ipad from the i4's mobile hotspot feature.

I am! I'm probably going to pick up the 32GB Wi-fi one, but I haven't decided on the colour yet. I promised myself that I'd wait for Gen 2 before I bought one, and I've been waiting patiently haha. Wi-fi hotspot with my iPhone 4 now is what sealed the decision to not get the 3G version. I have a good data plan, and not paying an extra $10 a month from those cellphone crooks for an 'iPad tethering charge' makes me happy.
Not sure if I'm going to line up though or try another retailer like LD or Best Buy. I presume that they'll all have them on launch day?

Nope, still a little to rich for my taste. Yes it's cool and I wouldn't mind having one, but at the current price point I'd rather just pony up for a new laptop.

Apple is paying close attention to all iPad 2 returns during the first few weeks to make sure there are no major production defects. This policy has indirectly led to a free iPad 2 to one customer and an amusing story that we thought was entertaining enough to share.
The story comes by way of an individual close to Apple:
[Apple's] focus this week has been to troubleshoot all the iPad 2s that customers are returning to the stores. One iPad came back with a post it note on it that said "Wife said no." It was escalated as something funny, and two of the VPs got wind of it. They sent the guy an iPad 2 with a note on it that said "Apple said yes."

Haha, win.

I'm 90% sure I'll be getting one. The only reason I'm not 100% sure is that I have done so much research on what to buy that my head hurts and now I can't make complete decisions anymore.
I don't have an iPhone 4 but would love the hotspot feature. I have a Blackberry so I am hoping there will be a jailbreak option as I don't want to spend extra for the 3G model and don't want a iPad 3G plan.

For people with Ipads, how well does streaming stuff off your computer work on it? Like can you download an app that lets you browse all your shared folders in your network? I've kind of just googled it, and apparently it works. I just don't know how well it actually works.

It works great. I use Air Video but I guess Home Sharing makes it even easier.

Yup. Using Skype you can make regular phone calls or, even better, it can do video calls.

Air video is a top 3 app for me. I just use home sharing now, but that's only because all my videos are iTunes friendly (air video doesn't care about file formats).

If your Ipad is jailbroken you can install XBMC (Xbox Media Center) on it and browse all your shared network folders, stream all your files and do a lot of other very cool stuff too (Navi-X comes to mind )

I think air video has a problem with playing any iTunes DRM movies while you can watch them with home sharing. Don't know if this is an issue as I don't know how many people purchase movies / shows off of iTunes.
