AV Nerds of CP.. I seek advice
While purging files for a hard drive transfer, I discovered some old home videos I captured from VHS to burn onto DVD's. The issue I ran into many moons ago, was when I captured the the clips from a long dead VCR, the video would de-sync from the audio so after a hour long capture, the audio would be 3 seconds too slow.
So here I am now... wanting to fix this issue and distribute the clips -obviously now in digital format- to my family... Of course the easiest solution is to either speed up the audio slightly (30/29.97 would be my guess) or slow down the video by the inverse and break the clips apart to give to appropriate family members.
What software would you guys recommend that is as close to free as possible achieve my goal? No, don't offer to do this for me because I do not want to expose any of you the image of me running around with a dog ass forwards on my shoulder acting like he is a bazooka and very many other things that I would never reveal.
P.S. The files I encoded from the VCR are MPEG-2 format
