I might be better off with 3 idiot vacuums bumping into each other frantically cleaning the same area... it would probably clean just as fast and then I'd get to watch a cleaning royal rumble.

You'd love the first 8 seconds of this

Hey, what do you guys tip your house cleaners for a Christmas bonus?

We just did $250, but I'm wondering if that's too cheap. They come every two weeks FWIW.

Ours comes weekly and every 4th week is a "big clean". We do (haven't yet this year) 2X the cost of the big clean.

Noted, but I get the vibe you're pretty well off. I'm thinking the expectations for me in my more modest setting will be lower hah. Anybody else?

No, no, it's not that... I was just trying to use another metric than straight up dollars, eg 2X a visit.

To be clear, the amount we've given as a bonus isn't far off what you indicated.

Not to get too tangential (though I suppose this is the general cleaner thread), but we've found having weekly cleans, with a monthly 'big clean' every 4th visit is actually not much more expensive due to maintaining a baseline... Bi-weekly requires two bigger jobs vs three smaller and one bigger. With four kids, we can't let things build up that long!

Yeah, I hear you. I wasn't trying to make it sound like you're too rich to have offered a valuable contribution, either. I think the 2x metric is a pretty good idea. Maybe I'll slip them a few more bucks and I'll feel better about our gift.

Thanks man!
