Recommendations for House Cleaner?
We just moved from a tiny bungalow into a much larger house, and now my better half is telling me that cleaning 4 bathrooms sucks, and I should help more.
Therefore, I am looking for a house cleaner to come in bi-weekly and clean 4 bathrooms and a kitchen, maybe some vaccuming.
Anyone here have a house cleaner to recommend before i dial up the Kijiji special?

We've used Aspen Clean a number of times and they're really thorough and professional. It's expensive but if you're only bringing them in for certain things I'm sure it'll be cheaper. We have them in once or twice a year when things are really busy and we don't have time for a top to bottom house clean. They do great work.

My cleaner comes every two weeks for 4 hours, for $150. Well worth it to me.

I have the same deal, with tax I pay $157 for 4 hours. Private cleaner, not a company, she has been coming bi-weekly for almost 10 years. Seems to be the going rate.

This is exactly what I am looking for. Do you use someone private, or a business?

Private person - I can see if she is taking new clients. She is also a student.
In 4 hours, she cleans all the bathrooms, floors, surfaces, garbage . . . (3 level home).

Re: vacuuming.
Have you tried robot vacuum? It's good enough for the 90% daily upkeep.

A robot vacuum makes quite a difference if you can get it to run while you're away and your place is set up so it doesn't get stuck or tangled up.
However, after a period of time, you have to open the whole thing up and clean out the micro dust trapped between the bin and the filter because without doing so, it reduces its cleaning efficacy significantly.
Also, if it keeps getting stuck on cables, memory foam anti-fatigue mats etc. that you aren't really interested in spending the time to clear out/block so it cannot get stuck on those, that also renders it kinda pointless and actually annoying.
EDIT: Robot vacuum if it meets your needs is great. Robot mopping is stupid. Don't get any of them that have that feature/attachment. It's a waste of money.

Do any of you guys keep a robot on the main floor and the upper floor if you have a two story house? I own zero robots, but my wife wants one on the main for the hard floors (LVP + tile) and the upper floor (all carpet).
I think we only need it on the carpeted floors and just swiffer the hard floors.

IMO it's the other way around. Robot vacuums will make hard floors (especially wood) look way better than if you regularly Swiffer it. It's not even close. It pulls of micro dust that you didn't realize you could see and makes it look like someone sorta polished the floor. Heck, you can even feel the stuff on a hard floor with your feet. Micro dust can easily blend into the carpet and you wouldn't really notice it.
TBH, I barely notice the results of using the robot on carpet other than the fact the robot has gigantic clods of hair wrapped around the spinners after it is done.
If you could only get one robot, I would suggest for the hard floor rather than carpet. But technically, you can also just pick up your robot, take it upstairs/downstairs as needed rather than get two.

This is the one I have. It cannot track worth #### and is kinda an idiot in an endearing way. I do find a noticeable difference using high suction vs regular suction mode.
For carpet and stairs, I would go with a stick vacuum instead of a robot and just do like 2-5 minute touch ups as needed. For around less than $200, something like this is pretty awesome for touch ups. It's also excellent in bathrooms for hair, dust etc. Then again, it's also great in the car.

Current setup:
Upstairs in bedrooms (carpet) I run the rooms individually. One room every day w/ the door shut. I've got the Shark RV700 (dumb). Reason I do this is because these are dumb robots that just bang around in random, so keeping the area small I'm likely to get better coverage. I had the iLife A4s (dumb)used in this scenario, but the med-pile carpets shed like crazy in this brush roller design, compared to the Shark roller causes a lot less shedding.
Main floor: Shark IQ (1st generation) Auto empty (Smart). Apparently the new generations have been improved.
This one runs everyday at 4am. Maps the place so it does row by row, but requires light, so I set my smart lights on for it to see. The auto empty is great. Hard floor pickup is really good for this machine as well. The roller design is more similar to the A4s and I end up with the same problems on the upstairs carpets. There are smarter ones that use LiDAR such that they can see in the dark, but they also cost significantly more.
Undeveloped basement currently, but will have to find another solution when that comes.
Other experience: Roomba 880 (dumb navigation)
Roomba has a patented double roller design. In my experience I've found that it's not as good on hard floors, and loud AF on hard floors. Low pile performance is good. Med pile performance is mediocre relative to above. It also got stuck on my door mats (black); probably the cliff sensors.

It's bull#### that for robot vacuums, you basically need to spend like $400-500+ for the smart cleaning paths. Dumb robot vacuums that only do random paths are like $150 starting.
I might be better off with 3 idiot vacuums bumping into each other frantically cleaning the same area... it would probably clean just as fast and then I'd get to watch a cleaning royal rumble.
