Was hilarious when Oshie scored the goal to go up 3-1. Quinn says “Oshie ties it at 2”. Absolutely astounding he couldn’t keep track of which team was winning. They always think they’re winning even when they’re losing up there in Edmonton.

Only four years past the point where he should have retired. I liked Lucic back in his Boston days, without him the Canucks may have won the cup. Heck even in LA he looked rejuvenated. Today he plays like someone who should be making two million and playing 10-12 minutes a night. In two years he'll be finished! Yet they're still on the hook for six million during the entirety of McDavid's prime. How can they be competitive essentially wasting 1/12 of their cap every year?
I truly hope no team bails them out of that contract and that Lucic stays healthy enough so they can't bury him on LTIR.

My golf pro is a diehard Oilers fan. This past weekend I was helping him with a 5 club end of season sale and made a suggestion that we should do a bet on who finishes higher in the standings, Flames or Oilers. Further to that I said the loser should have to wear the other teams jersey and tell everyone what a great team they are (sometime during the golf season).
Despite much pressure and badgering he wouldn't agree.

Anyone see the Grease trying to come back to win in the third period tonight? It was cute, like toddlers trying to put out a forest fire with a garden hose.

Last 5 games, no goals, no assists -1, 5 shots on goal, 2 minutes in penalties.
Right now he's on track for 23 points, which is about 260,870 per point.
Even better stat, he's on track for 23 points, last year he had 34. Last year he had 10 goals, this year he's on track for 6. Looks like that weight loss and skating lessons have paid off huge.

Best thing about the Lucic contract is it's unbuyout-able. That is officially a word now thanks to Looch and his savy agent.

The fact that the Oilers lost 4-2, but the headline is McDavid extends point streak to 8-games tells you the important narrative is all about the individual accomplishment and not the team.

Bit of a worry that after this next CBA, another round of Compliance Buyouts are offered to each club, and Lucic is bought out without cap penalty.

Unless the salary cap goes down, I doubt that Bettman will be giving out get out of jail free cards.

I assume all of them.
Plus an extra one. And a banner.

Is that why he gave them out the last time?

Lucic is on pace for a career low 6 goal, 24 point season which is 10 points less than last year.
Is there a worse contract out there right now?

Lol the Oilers 3rd line centre strome who makes 3.1 million$ a year and plays like 15 minutes a game has ZERO points so far this season. Just noticed that and its hilarious. When Chiasson is ur 4th best forward its honestly just sad. And on the topic of Chiasson on HFOil they suddenly think they have depth because Chiasson has been on a bit of a hot streak. Anyways their depth is worse then i thought. I highly doubt they can make the playoffs and im just waiting for the depth to show and Oilers to regress hard.

I always thought a Lucic for Loui Eriksson trade could make sense. Both players on horrible contracts, performing even worse. Maybe a change of scenery helps both players?
What team loses less (no one wins) in that trade of two horribad contracts/players?

His incredible demise is pretty strange though, isn't it? I mean, he's not even that old. Sure, he's 30, but it's not like there is usually a cliff that steep to fall off at 30. If he were 35 it might make sense, but how does a guy fall that far that fast at that age? Also he has been put in plenty situations to succeed without any positive results at all. Of course he's slow and all, but speed never had any part in his success, so how on earth does an NHL player just lose his entire skillset like that?

I think it would be a bad trade for the Canucks. Eriksson has lost his scoring touch but can at least skate and contribute somewhat in a 4th line role. Lucic is not really an NHL player anymore.
