Last night's Jets-Oilers game was also listed on Centre Ice, but it was not in free preview for me.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Only 4 more pre-season games left. There have to be a ton of cuts coming today or tomorrow I'd think.

Yeah, they definitely have the edge there. I just think Calgary has more players trying to prove they belong. With Winnipeg, it's not their top roster tonight, and there aren't really many spots open on Winnipeg's roster right now. I expect the Flames compete level to be higher than Winnipeg's, which is pretty similar to the one that got spanked by the Oilers.

Those look like our 19/20 defensive pairings. Looks good.

Ahh, figures. Same as last year then. Shaw had free preview and Telus did not.

Interesting they shifted Dube to the wing. If I remember correctly he's played center in all previous games.
Probably seeing if he can make the transition for that last available roster spot with the big club.

I'm surprised Rychel isn't seeing more action in the preseason.

Three exhibition games left after this one.
The Flames have a lot of forwards and numerous possible lines that have not played together. They have no lines going into this game that will be playing together when the season starts.
I hope that they don't find out when the season starts that whoever they have with Gaudreau and Monahan does not mesh. When do they find out that Neal/ Tkachuck / Lindholm is the best option on the #1 line or maybe Czarnik?
On defense they are going with 2 out of the starting 3 pairings .. That makes sense.
The Flames need to start the season off better than 5-5-0 like they did last year. Vegas started last year 8-2.
Will the next 3 tune up games be the opening day line-up with 3 call ups? rather than 9 guys playing for the last 3 forward spots on the roster.

Hopefully Andrew Mangiapane, Dillon Dube, and Spencer Foo pot a few goals.
It would be nice to have both Juuso Valimaki & Rasmus Andersson form the bottom pairing.
Is Tyler Parsons going to get some minutes tonight?

Yeah, he honestly hasn't been to noticeable. I don't know if thats a good or bad thing. He did get and assist the last WPG game I believe. I thought he'd be fighting Dube and Hathaway for that last spot. But Dube has all the attention right now.

Look at you trying to draw conclusions from pre-game lines for the 4th to last pre-season game.

Not drawing conclusions but hoping that they get ready to come out of the gate flying.
The play of the top-6 is so far more important than who gets the 10 4th line minutes.
The Flames are late getting their starting lines built due to the meaningless Chinese exhibition and they don't seem to see any urgency.
The line-up tonight has Lindholm and Ryan who are valid top 6 options skating with guys that will likely be top-6 in Stockton.
