I have started reading War and Peace. Joined a subreddit r/ayearofwarandpeace to get through it.

If you like mainstream fiction, avoid the newest john Grisham book "The Reckoning" . it's complete rubbish.

Have you ever wondered what you’d do if you were sent back in time? Wonder now longer. With HOW TO INVENT EVERYTHING, you’ll have all the science, art, engineering, philosophy, math, and music required to build a technological civilization - from scratch - all on your own. It’s the hilarious, educational, and awesome new book from Ryan North (from Dinosaur Comics, Squirrel Girl, Adventure Time, and more)

I have often wondered how I would invent stuff if I was sent back in time. I remember a TED talk about what it took for a guy to build a toaster from scratch, trying to obtain and process all the raw materials himself. It was a very difficult task, and his toaster really sucked. So much is dependent upon not just having the knowledge, but having the evolved system of commerce, trade and division of skills and labor that enables people.

Anyways, my interest is definitely piqued for that book.

Just finished A Short Walk in the Hindu Kush by Eric Newby. A very interesting read. I enjoyed it.

Now reading A Walk in the Woods.
