In the spirit of the holidays, I purchased a case of Lucky Lager so that I could use the box to wrap the gift I bought my sister. I must admit that I've not only consumed, but also enjoyed the original contents of this Lucky Lager case. So the answer to your question is 42.

Big Rock makes a great Winter Spice beer, it comes with gingerbread cookies which go with it great.
La Fin du Monde, a Quebec beer 750ml bottle that is corked (you can get it at WillowPark Liquor) is also delightful

...and to add to Chid's post, all you have to do is say you work at the willowpark golf course at the till and they give you a discount (can't remember exactly how much, it definitly isn't a whole lot) without asking for any proof that you actually work there. My buddy worked there one summer and told me about this, and I've been casually saying "....and I work at willow park golf course" and getting the discount successfully for about 5 months now.

*Although that's at the Bonaventure drive location (right beside the willowpark golf course). I'm not sure if the discount applies to the other two locations.

To be fair, all fancy holiday beer blows ass chunks.

If you want a holiday drink then spike your eggnog or some such concoction, dont mess with beer.

Beer is what it is.

No one wants to drink pumpkin spice candy cane beer. Really.

I dont mean to sound condescending, but in my experience, once you start trying to get too crazy with the holiday beer its pretty awful stuff.

Holiday beer makes baby Jesus cry.

There are many good holiday beers. Something simple like Sam Adams Winter Lager, or something a bit more involved like Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale(the 2006 is the best, if you can find it). 4am is too late to recall many of them, I'll have a look and get back when it's a more suitable hour.

Hmm I am going to have to try that!

I know that Alley Kat usually has some good seasonal beers. In the summer they had a rasberry one and then for fall/Halloween they had a Pumpkin Pie beer which was pretty tasty! I wonder if they have a Christmas one... I guess I'll be heading to the liquor store after work!

I was at Milestones this weekend and had their Winter Beer. It was quite good actually and I was pleasently surprised.

I just remembered the Winter Beer was the Granville Island however it seems like you cannot purchase this in Alberta from liquor stores. I will have to try the Big Rock ale asap

I wish I could import Granville Island Winter ale to Calgary. It's my favorite holiday beer.

Wild Rose Brewery. They are a local company located on the CFB Currie.

Their Brown Ale is very very good
