After 14 games Sveningsson has 1 goal and 1 assist. Oskarshamn has only won 4 of 14 games.
Point being the SHL has been a pretty big leap for the team. Hopefully Sveningsson is soaking it up. The SHL is not a league young players thrive in. Filip is tied for 14th in points among players under 21 (out of 67 players).

Sveningsson has not played in the last 8 game, and has the same point totals. Not sure if his absence is injury related or not. That said, Oskarshamn is dead last in the SHL so it it tough times for the whole squad.

2019 was not a good year for Filip Sveningsson or Oskarshamn. The team is last in the SHL and Sveningsson has been kept as a 'substitute' since game 14.
It's a pity, I was pretty high on the 20 year old since last season, but things don't look good at a distance.

As you are all aware, Sveningsson has missed a ton of hockey this season. Some to injuries, while other times he has been a healthy scratch. The last two games though, he has dressed, and on Saturday, he scored his second of the season.
He also got into a fight as well last game it seems.
18Gp 2G 2A 4Pts.
to put that in perspective the team has played 34 matches.

Svenningson has been loaned to Tingsryds AIF in the Allsvenskan. He has played to games and scored once.

Sveningsson is definitely an HockeyAllsvenskan level player.
He has 4 points in 8 games since his transfer. It took him 20 games in the SHL to reach that marker. Granted Oskarshamn is far and away the worst team in the SHL.

Svenningsson is leaving Oskarshamn:

He won't go too much into his future plans other than he has other Swedish clubs expressing interest

What do we think are the odds he gets an NHL contract?

This year Zero. He completely floundered last season. he would have to have a revelation of a season to change peoples minds about him.

Late on this but Sveningsson signed with MODO for the 20/21 season. Modo will play in the Allsvenskan and not the SHL in 20/21.

Interview with Sveningsson
https://www.hockeyallsvenskan.se/art...vde-en-nystart
Nothing earth shattering.
Summary:
Looking for a fresh start with MODO.
Had 2 major injuries last year that he feels disrupted his season and when he came back Oskarshamn was already set and it was difficult for him to get back into the line up
Also acknowledged that he was too focused on the WJC in 18/19 and he felt it like he lost a step when he returned.

Sounds like a pretty self-aware kid, I imagine those with that personality trait are more coachable than those who aren't

The HockeyAllsvenskanis under way again. Sveningsson has played 4 games and recorded one assist. You have to imagine that this season if his last chance to prove that he is worth bringing over to N.A.

It has been a bit since I updated what Sveningsson has been upto.
9GP 2G 1A 3Pts
At 21 you'd hope he was showing more development. But these numbers are not more remarkable than his 19 year old season.
If you remember I was really high on him when he was going to enter the SHL after a 27 pts season in the HockeyAllsvenskan. A combination of injury trouble last year and playing on a pitiful Oskarshamn did him no favours. He is really going to have to produce if he is going to earn a contract. He is by no means a wasted 7th rounder, still an interesting prospect.

Two more assists for Sveningson today.
14 gp 2 g 2 a 5pts.
He is going to need to be more impressive than that if he wants a contract.

Sveningson has registered 1 point in the last 10 games.
I am really disappointed in his development. Suffice to say, the next update in this thread will be him getting let go.
